HONG KONG, March 1, 2013 -(ASIA TODAY)- Music China 2013 returns with bigger scale to accommodate new andexisting exhibitors. Asia's best known music industry event, Music China will be held once again at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai from 10 - 13 October 2013.

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the China Music Instrument Association (CMIA) and INTEX Shanghai, the show continues to grow in scale, with eight exhibition halls, an increase of one hall to 92,000 sqm, including a 50 percent increase in the piano zone for the 2013 show.

Commenting on the increased show scale, Mr Jason Cao, Senior General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said: "The significant growth is due to an overwhelming response from exhibitors. So far 99 percent of last year's exhibitors have reserved space at the 2013 show, some of them even double the booth size. Pavilion from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Scandinavia, Spain, Taiwan, the Netherlands and the UK are planning to return. The tremendous exhibitor support shows that Music China is one of the most important events on the industry calendar in the Asia Pacific region."

China remains as a major market in Asia Pacific

While much of the world was experiencing an unstable economy in 2012, China enjoyed a 7.8 percent average growth in GDP. This has created an optimistic consumer market for musical instruments, contributing to the growth of musical instrument imports, valued USD 278 million from January to November in 2012, a 13 percent year-on-year increase . According to the China Customs, popular items enjoying a 12 to 25 percent year-on-year import increase include wind instruments, electronic and electrical instruments, percussion, stringed instruments and upright pianos.

Music China is a brand event of Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany, which will be held from 10 to 13 April 2013. For more information about the Musikmesse fairs, please visit www.musikmesse.com
