New Zones for Advertising and Small Orders, Spotlight on LED Lighting
27 October 2012 – The HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), the largest autumn event of its kind in Asia, opened today with new attractions and a record number of exhibitors.
The 14th edition of the fair has attracted nearly 2,300 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions. They include, for the first time, the Czech Republic. There is also a wider range of nationalities among buyers, with nearly 60 countries and regions represented and over 70 buying missions taking part.
Smart Sourcing
Visitors will find new highlights to support their sourcing efforts this year, as the fair has introduced areas focusing on advertising lighting and smart lighting. And batteries, transformers and drivers are featured in a subsection of the Accessories, Parts and Components zone.
Buyers hoping to test markets before ordering larger quantities can take advantage of the Small-Order Zone, new to the fair. The popular Hall of Aurora returns with more than 430 brands, a new high for the zone. Hall of Aurora exhibitors include ASFOUR, BJB, Citizen, CREE, EGLO, Everlight, Fulham, Fumagalli, MEGAMAN, Neo-Neon, OPTILED, Philips, Seoul Semiconductor, Viri Bright and Vossloh-Schwabe.
More than 800 exhibitors are also on hand with environmentally friendly products at the LED & Green Lighting zone.
Illuminating Insights
In response to growing worldwide interest, LED lighting is the focus of a number of seminars and conferences at this year’s fair. Today, international experts discuss prospects for the global LED lighting market, while a session tomorrow looks into LED technology applications, and a seminar on Monday addresses standards and certification.
Industry players will also benefit from a presentation tomorrow of winning items from the 2012 Hong Kong International Lighting Products Award. On Tuesday, visitors can gather insights from the Hong Kong Solid State Lighting Industry seminar.
