A+E Networks' venture brings Lifetime and H2 to Southeast Asia

Singapore, 16 May 2013 -( ASIA TODAY )- AETN All Asia Networks announced today that Lifetime® and H2™ will launch across the region on June 14th.

AAA Networks has secured broad carriage in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Macau on StarHub TV, True Visions, PCCW’s now TV, and Macau Cable TV respectively. More announcements are expected shortly.

A female-focused network that offers the highest-quality programming with shows that are contemporary, bold, vibrant and relevant, Lifetime has a heritage of high-profile and celebrated programs that attract some of the top talent in Hollywood. The network brings viewers a diversified selection of critically-acclaimed original movies, scripted dramas and unscripted programming.

With motion picture-quality scripts and award-winning talent, Lifetime original movies feature the best talent, both in front of and behind the camera, to bring the most compelling stories to life. For the Asia launch, Lifetime premieres include Liz & Dick, starring Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler; Ring of Fire, with singer/songwriter Jewel; Romeo Killer: The Chris Porco Story, starring Eric McCormack; and Sworn to Silence, featuring Neve Campbell.

Acclaimed dramas The Client List, starring and executive produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Unforgettable, featuring Poppy Montgomery, also make their Asia premieres on the network. Lifetime’s unscripted slate includes the first and exclusive premiere of the hit reality series MasterChef Australia (S4) and Dance Moms, a top-performing franchise that has inspired water-cooler talk across the US.

A leading women’s entertainment network in the United States, Lifetime launched in 1984 and is considered an iconic passion brand. Year to date, it is the #1 cable network for movies among Women 18+ across primetime. Lifetime is the #1 Women’s Network among all TV networks, ranking #16 on Index & Quality and Buzz on YouGov’s Q1 2013 BrandIndex Report.

H2 digs deeper into the stories and events of History, providing audiences with more to explore, more to reveal and more to know. H2 presents information in innovative ways, while offering viewers a deeper connection to the world around them, covering military, ancient, modern and natural history, as well as science and technology. Through its compelling mix of exclusive programming and original H2 commissions, the channel will cater to the upscale audience, the passionate military history fan, and knowledge seekers who want to know more. Series include Mankind Decoded, How Sex Changed the World, and America’s Secret Slang.

H2 launched in the US in September 2011 and is the #1 emerging ad-supported cable network in the US among Adults 25-54, delivering 38% YOY growth in 2012. The channel is available in almost 70 million households in the US.
