MOU signed by Habitat for Humanity and the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives to support families in Maha Sarakham province
Bangkok, 30th May 2013 – A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by Mr. Somsak Kangteerawat, Executive Vice President for the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives (BAAC) and Mr. Piriyah Wisedjinda, Chairman of the Board for Habitat for Humanity Thailand, to jointly implement the ‘Microsavings Program for Home Improvement’. The program is financially supported by the Citi Foundation. The research component is being conducted by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
The program will support low-income families living in flood-prone areas near the Chi River in Maha Sarakham province to save for home improvements.
The event was attended by Mr. Darren Buckley, Country Head and Citi Country Officer; Mr. Rick Hathaway, Vice-President of Asia-Pacific, Habitat For Humanity International; Mr. Weerachart Kilenthong, Research Institute for Policy Evaluation and Design Director, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and others, to witness the MOU signing at the Conference Room, 2nd floor Tower Building of BAAC head office, on 28 May 2013.
