The high Indonesia domestic gas demand and the depleting Indonesia gas potential encourages the Government to actively develops CBM and Shale Gas as their alternative energy which are currently known have huge potential reserves. To better illustrate the business outlook and focus on more in-depth technical solutions of their exploration facing Indonesia’s Shale Gas and CBM industry, the 6th Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit 2013, organized by China Decision Makers Consultancy, will be held in Indonesia on 31st Oct- 1st Nov 2013.

Indonesia is ranked sixth in the world for CBM reserves with a potential 453 trillion cubic feet and has potential shale gas reserves of around 574 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), compared with proven conventional gas reserves of 106 Tcf. CBM exploration and development has intensified in Indonesia in recent years, particularly since the first Production Sharing Contracts were awarded in 2008. The timing for further exploration into CBM is ideal with natural gas prices increasing on the global market and PLN actively searching out cheaper fuel alternatives. Pricing of CBM power for the domestic market is also highly competitive at $0.27 USD per kwh; 50% lower compared to diesel. PLN forecasts that CBM could produce as much as 2000 MW of power for the country by 2015.

Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit (UHS) is the regional annual conference which assembled leaders from all stakeholder groups in Unconventional Hydrocarbons, e.g: CNOOC, CNPC, Baker Hughes, Eni, Shell, Honeywell, Halliburton, Polish Oil & Gas Company, ExxonMobil Chemical, Dow Chemical Pacific and supported by China Petroleum Enterprise Association/Sinopec Group. With over 2000+ attendees, UHS has already grown into a leading world Unconventional Hydrocarbons event.

Based on the success of previous Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit, 6th Annual Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit 2013 Indonesia will serve as a much higher-level platform and will attended by government, national oil companies, international oil companies, natural gas companies, Oil-field-services firms, coal enterprises, investors, EPC, vendors, equipment and technology suppliers etc, to illustrate business outlook and focusing on more in-depth technical solutions facing Indonesia’s shale gas and CBM industry.
