Putrajaya, 26 July 2013 - Economic relations are one of the many things that keep countries connected, creating opportunities for individuals to change and influence the world via business and entrepreneurship. To truly succeed economically, positive energy is needed to truly beautify the world, create healthy societies and to be a source of life’s happiness. With that in mind, aiming spark discussion about future trade sense via a trade conference, the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), together with one of the world’s largest express delivery companies, TNT Express Malaysia brings you the 3rd edition of MCEC.
Themed “positive energy creates better opportunity”, the MCEC will be held on 1 December 2013 at a 5-star hotel located in Kuala Lumpur. With an expected turnout of approximately 1000 participants from Malaysia, China, as well as residents from South Asian and ASEAN countries, the conference will offer opportunities for the exchanging of ideas, explore and expand greater networks and improve and increase trade exchanges and collaborations between Malaysia and China.
Hoping to see continuous growth in the conference, Alice Lee, Organising Chairman of MCEC 2013 shared: “We hope to create a platform that allows entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and information, incorporate more positive energy to be more competitive and to create bigger business opportunities,” she said.
Previous events such as the Malaysia-China Trade and Investment International Conference and MCEC 2012, received generous support and feedback from China and ASEAN countries. With a stellar track record and these successful events under their belt, the MCEC welcomes entrepreneurs to share their successful tips, use a wider angle to understand trade trends and to explore the business opportunities between China and Malaysia.
Commenting on one of the many demands of the trade industry, Mr SC Chong, Managing Director of TNT Express Malaysia shared: “With an increasing reliance on trade, countries are also increasingly dependent on efficient and competitive means of both delivering exports to their destinations and bringing in imports from other countries,” he said. “This year’s theme of “positive energy creates better opportunity” could not be more apt. Entrepreneurship truly plays a vital role in this fast-changing business world, carrying with it the positive energy which is imperative in the world today,” said Chong.
Among the many highlights of MCEC, the networking and trade negotiation sessions are not to be missed. Aimed to provide companies with a platform to discuss and seek partnerships in new projects and developments, the networking session will be held on 30 November here in Marriott Putrajaya, and will particularly benefit those who intend to expand their network. The trade negotiation session – which will be held on 1 December - on the other hand, will be divided into 5 different sectors which feature the potential businesses in Malaysia and the industries which receive high support from foreigners, including the Halal food industry, manufacturing, swiftlet, Malaysia My 2nd Home project, education, tourism and property. At the same time, trade inspection tours will also be arranged for participants to create more business opportunities as well as to allow attendees to form fond memories of the conference.
With the assistance from Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, the MCEC was pleased to make a special appearance at the recent China Kunming Trade Fair, promoting the MCEC 2013. Receiving an encouraging response, this was the first time the MCEC was promoted in a foreign country.
Hoping that the “positive energy” from the MCEC 2013 will resonate on a larger scale, Dato’ Bong Hon Liong, President of the Malay-China Chamber of Commerce says: “After difficult times with export performance, it is a good time to illustrate the existence of positive energy; to think how to create new business opportunities with the help from the government and entrepreneurs. MCEC 2013 comes at a time as where we would truly like to infuse the importance of positive energy to help the economy to have a greater turnover and to excel more than before,” he said.
Themed “positive energy creates better opportunity”, the MCEC 2013 is supported by the Malaysia International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI), Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC). To top it off, Li Zhong Ping, Secretary of Chinese-funded Enterprises also indicated that they will be providing full support to MCEC 2013.
The MCEC 2013 will be conducted in both Mandarin and English (simultaneous translation). Participation fee is RM300, and early birds will get to enjoy the special price of RM200 for enrolment before 30 September.
