Inspiring demonstrations and fringe programmes offer the latest industry technologies and trends
Five hundred brands and companies from 15 countries and regions are taking part in this year’s Prolight + Sound Shanghai, taking place from 10 – 13 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China.
The show is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and INTEX Shanghai Co Ltd and the exhibitors are representing Canada, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, the UK and the US.
Commenting on exhibitor involvement in the show, Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “The high number of international brands participating at Prolight + Sound Shanghai tells us that our show continues to offer immense business opportunities in Asia. ATMOSPHERE – Visualize the Creation on Stage
10 – 13 October 2013
The Atmosphere Dome is a new and interactive demonstration led by Mr Tobias Gremmler, Visiting Associate Professor from the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. He has provided digital design solutions for brands such as Adidas, Apple, BMW, Samsung and Sony. In the dome, the audience will be surrounded by a 180 degree projection screen showing 3D images and they can take part in the presentation by selecting different visual moods through an interactive tablet.
Concert Sound Arena
10 – 13 October 2013
This year, Concert Sound Arena will feature 12 leading international and local audio brands in an outdoor environment, so the audience can experience a professional concert sound effect. Participating brands include Clair Bros, DE Acoustics, FBT, iBO, KV2 Audio, Regal, Sae, Tasso,Turbosound,TW Audio, WAVK and Zsound.
Tech Shanghai•Multi-media Technology Showcase

This is an innovative multimedia technology showcase for pro audio and lighting products, supported by the Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association and the Shanghai Scenography Association.
Applications of AV System in the Hotel Industry

The increasing demand for pro audio and lighting, conference systems, public address and LED panels in the hotel industry is supported by this tailor-made programme. An expanded delegation from the China Hotel Association will return again to the show and interact with exhibitors on the topic of AV system applications at upscale hotels, as well as discussing how to optimise high-end AV system usage for the hotel and MICE industries.
Lighting and Visual Design for TV Production Seminar

Lighting engineers will share their expertise in lighting and stage art for TV shows. One of the speakers, Mr Florian von Hofen, Head of International Affairs of VPLT (the Professional Lighting & Sound Association of Germany) will give a German TV-studio case study on Stuttgart’s SWR-studios, which has interesting lighting features, from full automation to high-class LED back lights.
Stage Art Design and Technology Forum

This forum is supported by the China Association of Stage Art, the Shanghai Scenography Association and the Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association. China’s top director Ms Chen Xinyi and local art designers and producers will be there to share the latest developments and insights related to stage art and design. Besides, two speakers from Germany will also participate in the forum. Topics include:
- Fantastic Flashes – How to Create an Impressive Multimedia Event
Speaker: Mr Markus Katterle, Flash Art, Germany, one of the world’s top multimedia-event design and production companies.
- The Art of Dynamic Stage Design Technology
Speaker: Mr Oliver Nachbauer is the Co-Founder of The Directors GmbH, his clients include Hugo Boss who he has worked with for over ten years. He was Scientific Director and Professor of Siemens Media Academy, Berlin - Germany's first and leading Academy for Entertainment Design and Technology.
Nightscape & Stage Lighting Forum

This forum will present LED lighting applications and developments, as well as China’s latest stage lighting technologies and trends. It is supported by the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society.
