Leading manufacturer’s line-up to offer latest products for booming regional energy sector; industry experts address key issues on conference floor

UAE, Abu Dhabi, 18 September, 2013: Scores of manufacturer’s from around the world will line-up in Abu Dhabi next week to launch their latest products and technologies in the power and water industries at the Middle East’s leading and most established energy event.

Held in strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA), Power + Water Middle East will take place from 23 September – 25 September at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), and will be buzzing with activity as more than 100 exhibitors from 25 countries will gather to offer products and services for a booming regional energy sector.

Leading the way is Saint-Gobain PAM, the division representing the pipeline activity of the Saint-Gobain Group, which will introduce PAM Academy – the Middle East’s first training facility for water pipeline engineers.

The UAE based PAM academy has been launched by the French based company in response to what it says is an opportunity to provide specialist training in the region covering the manufacture, design, inspection, installation and commissioning of water pipeline systems.

“The Saint-Gobain PAM Academy provides practical education to both experienced and graduate engineers. This training allows water authorities, their design consultants and installers to get the best from their pipeline assets, by reducing water leakage, managing maintenance costs and hence maximising the return on their asset investment, said Sebastien Guillemot, Marketing Manager for the Middle East at Saint-Gobain Group

“Constant product innovation, changing international standards along with the regional engineering challenges means there is always new and vital information to share and learn.

“The PAM Academy has been designed to provide a platform to do just that, offering modules on everything related to comprehensive pipeline solutions.

“We opened our first PAM Academy in France more than 30 years ago, and due to the significant growth in water and sewage networks in the Middle East, driven by increasing industrial and population growth, we felt it would be beneficial to bring this facility closer to our clients. We will receive the first batch of our trainee’s next month followed by a second batch in December 2013.”

According to the 2013 GCC Projects Report published by the business intelligence portal Zawya, the GCC power and water sector holds a total of US$182.2 billion worth of ongoing projects. Of this, Saudi Arabia leads with US$71.9 billion followed by UAE with US$56.5 billion.

In an effort to cater to rising demand for energy products in the region, Jindal Saw Gulf, the Abu Dhabi based manufacturer of ductile iron pipes, will introduce their biggest manufacturing facility in the MENA region at Power + Water Middle East.

The UAE-based Dafnia Technologies will also have a strong presence at the three-day event in Abu Dhabi, with the launch of its latest datacenter cooling solutions installed with unique features to help reduce datacenter power consumption. Meanwhile, Omicron Electronics will launch Cibano 500, the latest test system for medium and high voltage circuit breakers.

“Power + Water Middle East is the only event in the region providing an all-in-one platform for industry professionals wishing to network with local and international companies offering solutions to the power generation, water and nuclear energy industries,” said Anita Mathews, Director of the Informa Energy Group, organisers of Power + Water Middle East.

“The event will feature more than 4,000 square meters of exhibition space, and will be busy with product demonstrations, networking functions and more than 100 local and international exhibitors showcasing the widest range of power and energy products in the region.”

Power + Water Middle East returns with the Power + Water Leader’s Forum, taking place on 23 September, providing an opportunity for senior level professionals in the power and water industries to network with key industry players from across the world to discuss and debate core topics affecting the power and water sectors in the GCC.

Power + Water Middle East is supported by Emirates Green Building Council, Clean Energy Business Council, UAE Society of Engineers, Bahrain Society of Engineers and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). For more information about the event visit: www.powerandwaterme.com.
