Muscat, Oman - An encouraging number of visitors—over 6,000—came to visit the 5th international edition of Women Expo from December 17 to 19 at the Oman International Exhibition Center. The event saw a significant presence of women seeking instructional, training, business and entrepreneurship opportunities in the field of banking and finance, health, fitness and beauty, fashion and lifestyle, and career and education.
From the first day, the visitor count steadily increased, a testimony to the unique and favorable opportunities presented by organizer Omanexpo by way of bringing in a fairly good number of local and international companies to introduce competitive and startup brands to the local market.
Alongside the diverse exhibits at Women Expo, the free fitness activities sponsored by the event’s fitness partner Horizon Fitness, the free skin and laser consultations offered by skin care specialists, the hand-painting and other educational and recreational activities, were a guaranteed attraction.
Exhibitors and visitors gave positive feedback and expressed their gratitude for a successful three-day show.
“There is no doubt that our participation in the exhibition has benefited us as we were able to promote a mix of traditional and modern Omani handicraft and jewelry. We participated in many exhibitions in the Sultanate and this is the first participation for us in Women Expo. We hope that this will be repeated,” a representative of Baqir Mosaic Jewelry comments.
About 14 companies, Baqir Mosaic Jewelry included, participated under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Development.
Malvika Bhagotra of Opal Travel and Tours says “I came here to get some useful information about new products and services as well as to explore potential business partnerships. It was a very successful show.”
Omanexpo general manager Nader Abbas says “We see a marked interest and potential among entrepreneurs and this is helping the trade flourish. We hope that this show has truly helped open up opportunities and served as an opening for more new small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Oman.”
Women Expo was formally inaugurated by Majlis a’shura member H.E. Naama bint Jamil bin Farhan Albusaidi on Tuesday.
