Xiaomi's smartphone sales hit 18.7 mln in 2013

Jan 3 (China Knowledge) - Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi Corp sold 18.7 million smartphones in 2013, skyrocketing 160% from a year earlier, said Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi.

The company realized RMB 31.6 billion in sales revenue last year, 150.8% more than the RMB 12.6 billion it realized in 2012.

In the month of Dec, Xiaomi sold 3.23 million smartphones with sales revenue of RMB 5.3 billion.

In 2013, Xiaomi published a series of new products including two new smartphones and two smart TVs.

The CEO said that the primary task for Xiaomi is to improve its productivity and the company will supply at least 40 million mobile phones this year.
