Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair will run from 6 – 9 January 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The annual trade show for the paper, stationery and office supplies industry attracts 224 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions.
The 2014 show will introduce a new zone named DIY Supplies. Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “The new zone is launched in response to the rising trend of DIY items. It is dedicated to materials and tools for DIY and handicraft usage.”
In addition to the DIY Supplies Zone, the exhibition is divided into four specialised zones for more efficient and convenient sourcing. The four zones are Gift Stationery, Kids & School, Pen & Paper and Smart Office.
Mr Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director for HKTDC, also remarked on the fair. He said: “The show is now in its 14th edition and has developed into an ideal sourcing platform where buyers can find premium stationery items from around the world. This year, we welcome group pavilions from Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, as well as first time exhibitors from Chile.” The show also attracts suppliers from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, the Chinese mainland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK, and the US.
Informative seminars on green products, product design and packaging
The Hong Kong International Stationery Fair also helps the industry players to collect the latest market intelligence through its informative seminars.
As electronic devices are becoming more important in daily life, stationery items need to stand out with unique designs in order to catch people’s attention, and remind them of the importance of traditional stationery. One of the show’s seminars focuses on product design and packaging will give the audience some hints on how to retain competitiveness in this area. Eco-friendliness is another popular trend for stationery items. The “Stationery Go Green” seminar will provide professional advice from the Green Council and Korea Stationery Industry Cooperative. In addition, “Buyer Forum” will present market trends and opportunities in South East Asia and Australia. The forum will benefit industry players who want to expand their businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
