MIES Manila will enhance MIES’ capabilities and project expertise in South East Asia
SINGAPORE, 20 January 2014 – Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering & Services Private Ltd. (MIES) today announced the opening of their Manila Branch office, MIES Manila in The Philippines. The opening of the new branch office is aimed at strengthening the chemical and environmental plant business of MIES and its parent company, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI). The establishment of MIES Manila is in line with MIES’ overall business strategy using the competitive human resources of its Singapore and Manila offices.
Together with MIES Singapore and MIES Manila, the company headcount will now total 160 employees which will include managerial, engineering & technical specialists, administrative and support staff to plan and manage projects in South East Asia and the world over. In view of the growing business potential in the region, MIES foresees a headcount increase in the near future to further bolster its project management and technical capabilities.

MHI Industrial Engineering & Services Private Ltd. (MIES) was established in Singapore in October 2010 and commenced its operations on 1st November 2010.
On 1st October 2012, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) merged Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Singapore Private Ltd. and Mitsubishi Power Systems (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. with MHI Industrial Engineering & Services Private Ltd. The company was renamed Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering & Services Private Ltd. (MIES) to enhance its global presence.
In collaboration with its parent company MHI, MIES will provide certain EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services on projects. Future plans will include MIES expansion of businesses to include the provision of EPC services on all projects where system integration is required.
