Feb 14 (China Knowledge) - Lenovo Group Ltd<0992>, the world's largest PC maker, said yesterday that its net profit rose 29.5% year on year to US$265 million in the third fiscal quarter.
Basic earnings per share for the period were at 2.56 US cents, higher than the 1.99 US cents it realized in a year earlier.
According to a statement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the group's revenue rose 15.3% year on year to US$10.79 billion in the three month period.
In the three month period, the company's smart phone sales surged 47% year on year to a record high of 13.9 million units.
The group further strengthened its number one position in the worldwide PC market with market share of 18.5% in fiscal quarter three.
In the first nine months of this fiscal year, Lenovo Group's net profit increased 29.6% year on year to US$659 million, while its revenue for the period totaled US$29.35 billion, up 12.7% year on year.
