New Delhi, India -- ASIA TODAY / Media OutReach --20 February, 2014-- Artesyn Embedded Technologies, formerly Emerson Network Power's Embedded Computing & Power business, today announced that it has joined the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Industry Specifications Group (ISG). Initiated by some of the largest network operators in the world, the group has attracted broad industry support and participation now includes communication equipment vendors, IT vendors and technology providers.
The NFV ISG aims to achieve a consistent approach and common architecture for the hardware and software infrastructure needed to support virtualized network functions. The group has already published the first five specifications and is developing more detailed guidance. These documents agree a framework and terminology for NFV which will help the industry channel its efforts towards fully interoperable solutions to enable global economies of scale.
