Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC), the largest exhibition center in South Taiwan, debuts on April 14th, bringing 30,000 visitors including international buyers, exhibitors and visitors. Michael Tu, president of Kaohsiung Exhibition Center Corporation expressed, “KEC is the first waterfront exhibition and conference venue in Taiwan, providing both trade and recreation function to the city. KEC has shown its capability in drawing people and business opportunities.”
A shop owner in the KEC expressed, “ Kaohsiung Exhibition Center combines the idea of commerce and tourism, bringing great business performance.” The revenue of his KEC branch shops during exhibitions days was 1.5 times of their counterparts in other business districts during holidays. The exhibition has also benefited local hotels.
Ambassador Hotel, Grand Hi-lai, 85 Sky Tower were fully-booked during The Taiwan International Fastener Show. Turnovers of restaurants in 85 Sky Tower grew 20% during the exhibition period.
For some shop owners, the large volume of visitors during exhibition periods were beyond anticipation. A snack stand has created a complete sold out. Even a millionaire of a shop in KEC operated cashier by himself in order to serve their customers better during the peak hours. The shop owner promised to plan more dining areas in the further.
Kaohsiung Exhibition Center expects the Central Boulevard will create NT$ 20 million turnover in the first month. In addition to its trade nature, the Central Boulevard corresponds with the relaxing atmosphere of KEC’s waterfront plaza, will soon become a new tourist resort of the port city.
Kaohsiung Exhibition Center will have more B2C shows coming up. For example, International Boat Show, which will take place on May 8 to May 11, will be open to public, presenting 40 luxury yachts and 900 booths to Kaohsiung people and international buyers. Tickets are now available in convenient stores and online.
