New strategic location will help companies achieve goals in China and North Asian countries
Shanghai, China – May 8, 2014 –( ASIA TODAY )– To help both multinational and domestic companies capitalize on market opportunities in China, ABI, a leading global business-to-business (B2B) marketing public relations agency, has announced the opening of a Shanghai office to bolster its capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. The new location will help companies address the challenges facing B2B sectors in China, which include increased market competition, global expansion, and the growth of new digital sales platforms. For example, B2B e-commerce has seen a growth rate of nearly 23% between 2012 and 2013 alone[i].
As various markets in China continue to mature, companies – both foreign and domestic – must navigate through the rising demand for superior product quality, government mandates for manufacturing and compliance, and the growing application of “big data” to supplement traditional means of customer communication. ABI’s Shanghai office offers existing and prospective clients market-specific knowledge of media, online and social networking channels, in-depth understanding of local regional influencers and customer demands, and the competency to generate results that directly support business objectives.
“With the Chinese economy forecasted for significant growth, the key to best supporting our clients is to be on the ground,” said Alan Isacson, Founder and CEO of ABI. “Not only will the new office allow us to better service ABI’s existing client portfolio in China, it will also serve as the touch point for new emerging Chinese companies who are looking to expand internationally and engage a global agency.”
For the past four years, ABI has been supporting multinational companies in China’s key B2B growth sectors from its Singapore office, including food, packaging, life sciences, electronics, heavy industrial, product inspection and sustainability. From helping international companies enhance their reputation in the market to building a Chinese company’s international reach, ABI provides an in-depth understanding of industry knowledge backed by global support. Headquartered in New York City, the company now has four offices worldwide including London, Singapore and Shanghai.
Juliet Zhu Named Managing Director, Asia Pacific
Juliet Zhu, who was recently promoted as ABI’s Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region, will run the Shanghai office. Originally from China, Zhu started her ABI career seven years ago working from the company’s London office. Zhu has managed the firm’s Singapore office for the last five years.
”With ABI’s new office located in Shanghai, I am excited to further help companies develop strategies to navigate China’s complex and ever-changing media landscape, especially in the B2B social media space,” remarked Zhu who will oversee operations at both Asia sites. Zhu has also been named Global Director of Emerging Markets.
