SINGAPORE 9 June, 2014 – Skoolbo has partnered the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) to start the Core Skills Pilot Project for children aged four to ten. Skoolbo provides SINDA with the free game-based platform to level up literacy and numeracy among the Indian student community.

The Skoolbo Core Skills App with more than 60,000 literacy and maths questions has been installed on 20 laptops in the SINDA computer lab, where children will start to use the Skoolbo app from June on a regular basis. SINDA will work closely with Skoolbo to analyse the students’ results, track their improvement and detect their weaknesses as well as strengths.

Ms Sivakami Chinniah, Deputy Director of the Family Division at SINDA, was appreciative of this pilot programme, adding that “SINDA has always focused on children having a headstart in their education as early as possible, so that they are well-equipped with the necessary skillsets when they enter primary school. An interactive app like Skoolbo’s ensures that our children continue to learn in a fun environment, whilst being encouraged to think creatively”.

Mr Tay Kok Chin, Director of Partnership at Skoolbo, said: “We are very happy to support SINDA's national effort to level-up the literacy and numeracy skills of the Indian community. It is aligned to our global mission that with technology, every child should be given the opportunity to read and gains confidence with numbers".

Similar Skoolbo Core Skills Pilot Projects have been launched with the South East Community Development Council, Central Community Development Council, Lakeside Family Centre, Pasir Ris Primary School and Modern Montessori International.

The Skoolbo App ensures that every child always receives the right level of difficulty with the appropriate balance of new and revision content. The system continues to assess the child’s performance and adapts its game content to match the child’s learning method and current achievements.
