Strategic Summit on Myanmar’s ICT and Telecom Developments & Opportunities

Singapore, 8 November 2012 – INTO MYANMAR ICT Global Summit: Mobile Telecom | Internet Infrastructure | Cloud Computing will convene in Yangon, Myanmar from 3 – 4 December 2012. The inaugural ICT summit will see telecom operators, service providers, ICT vendors & distributors, handset & device manufacturers and network technologists congregate to discuss new opportunities and current concerns faced by the privatisation of the Myanmar’s telecommunication and ICT sectors.

In view of the step-by-step privatization of Myanmar’s telecommunication
sector, this summit provides a unique networking opportunity for investors to meet with key stakeholders in Myanmar to do business. Foreign telecom investors, equipment providers and technology leaders are expected to be present to meet with key decision-makers in Myanmar's public and private sectors. In addition, the summit provides the latest updates on key regulatory updates in Myanmar's potentially promising telecom and ICT sectors.

Key issues to be addressed by top officials from the Myanmar investment
Commission and other key ministries as well as industry leaders include Myanmar's latest telecom market openings, regulatory updates on the new telecom licenses, roaming solutions, cloud opportunities, tariffs, pricing, monetization of value-added services, rural telephony, funding & investment guarantees for foreign investors and more.
