Paperworld China features a regional Taiwanese pavilion and local Chinese pavilions

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Paperworld China has signed up a regional Taiwanese pavilion, as well as four local pavilions from China’s important stationery manufacturing bases, for its upcoming show which will be held 18 – 20 September 2014 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China.

Representing the show organiser, Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “As Paperworld China’s tenth anniversary approaches, its position as China’s leading international trade fair for the stationery and office supplies is confirmed. The show is receiving strong support from various trade associations and organisations which have organised visitor groups and a number of pavilions, including those from Shandong, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Wenzhou, representing China’s most important stationery manufacturing bases.”

The Taiwanese pavilion is making its tenth appearance at the show. Mr Junguo Huang, President of the Taipei Import and Export Commercial Trade Council commented: “The show is the region’s largest industry event and China’s most important trade fair. Exhibiting is particularly effective for building a positive corporate identity, increasing brand recognition and expanding sales channels.”

Also returning to Paperworld China is the Wenzhou pavilion, the show’s biggest pavilion with an area of 1,000 sqm. Mr Nan Zhongde, General Secretary of the Wenzhou Pen-Making Association said: “We have organised a large number of Wenzhou pen manufacturers to participate at this year’s Paperworld China including Golden Horse, Kevin, New Time and Shengfeng.”

The Ningbo pavilion is organised by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ningbo Sub-Council and has attracted 50 key Ningbo enterprises including Aiven, Superstrong and TianHong.

Leading exhibitors and a number of visitor groups sign up for the show

Around 80 leading brands have signed up for Paperworld China, including Guangbo, MAX, SENATOR, Ujipin and TungYang from China, Liberty and Lion Pencil from Taiwan, Premec (Switzerland), Royal Standard (Indonesia) and Fujifilm (Japan).

Returning exhibitor Guangbo is a leading and influential Chinese stationery manufacturer specialising in conventional office and school supplies as well as fashionable stationery. The company is confident about the show, booking a large exhibition space of 300 sqm. In addition, Guangbo is organising various fringe programmes at the show.

Ujipin from Beijingis one of China’s most successful gift e-commerce platforms and a regular exhibitor at the show. Ms Catherine Lu, the company’s Chief Executive Officer said: “We support Paperworld China because of the Paperworld brand which represents professionalism. As well as a comprehensive range of stationery and office items, quality trendy design gifts are also available which will attract many corporate buyers. It’s a great business opportunity for us.”

Paperworld China is supported by various associations such as the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ningbo Sub-Council which will organise a group of nearly 1,000 professional buyers to source from the show. The Yiwu Chamber of Commerce will also organise a visitor group and its Secretary General Ms Liping Jia commented: “Our members will also be able to update themselves with the latest industry trends and take advantage of the vast business opportunities available.”

In addition, Paperworld China has confirmed the attendance of stationery purchasing managers from famous supermarket chains including Carrefour, Lotus, RT mart and its e-commerce platform, Office Depot as well as Yihaodian which is one of China’s biggest e-commerce platforms. Mr Rong Wang, Stationery Purchasing Manager for Carrefour Shanghai said: “With China’s improved living standards and a rise in consumption level, more manufacturers are now focusing on domestic trade. I am happy that I will be able to meet many stationery heavyweights and suppliers from around the world at the show.”

Special DIY Studio and Oriental Culture product zones

Due to the popularity of “Do-it-yourself” (DIY) and handicraft items, the show will feature a special product zone called DIY Studio supported by the Shanghai Creative Industry Association DIY Craft Promotion Center. Visitors will be able to view products ranging from scrapbooks, gift paper, paper moulds, glass paints, wood paints, fabric paints and fabric art items to clay modeling and embroidery.

Another special product zone is called Oriental Culture which is organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shandong Sub-council. Director Mr Fei Yan commented: “Paperworld China is the most established and comprehensive trade event for developing both local and international markets.” At the zone, visitors will be able to view items which are on the national list of intangible cultural heritage items, including Jinan embroidery and the Caozhou dough figurine as well as other popular cultural crafts such as Weifang kites, paper cutting, Longshan black pottery, Feichen peach wood crafts and Yanggu wood carving.”

Paperworld China is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the China Chamber of Commerce for I/E of Light Industrial Products & Arts-crafts and Guangzhou Foreign Trade South China Exhibition Corp Ltd. The show is expected to attract 25,000 visitors and 550 manufacturers and suppliers from 14 different countries and regions.

This year’s Paperworld China will be held concurrently with Interior Lifestyle China, the trade fair for lifestyle and household products and accessories. Holding the two shows at the same venue offers buyers a larger range of products to choose from.
