September 3, 2014 (China Knowledge) – Hong Kong Tourism Board has announced that the Special Administrative Region's visitor arrivals rose about 12.8% year on year to 5.37 million in Jul this year, boosted by an increase in the number of mainland tourists.
The tourism board says that the number of tourists from mainland China hit 4.26 million in Jul, 25.5% more than in the previous month and account for 79% of Hong Kong’s total visitor arrivals.
In the first seven months of this year, the number of visitors to Hong Kong increased by 12.3% from a year earlier to 33.9 million, including 26.09 million from mainland China, up 15.5% year on year.
Hong Kong expects its visitor arrivals to reach 52 million this year, up 7% year on year.
