SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - Media OutReach - 10 October, 2014 - The Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) has moved up six spots to be ranked number 49 in the world for its MBA program, according to The Economist Which MBA? survey released today.
The ranking places MGSM's MBA program at number one in NSW, number 3 in Australia and number 5 in the Asia-Pacific region. The school has also achieved a global ranking of three for post-MBA increase in salary.
According to Professor Alex Frino, Dean of MGSM, the outstanding result reflects the school's increased emphasis on the realities of doing business in a global context.
"We have also made significant innovations to our MBA offering to ensure our students are continually exposed to the leading ideas, theory and practice in management education," said Professor Frino.
"We have done this by closely aligning MGSM with business and attracting faculty who are leading experts in their field."
"We are also offering more internships, living case studies with multinational corporations and exposure to leading thinkers from CEO's to Nobel laureates," said Professor Frino.
According to Frino, this assists students to gain leadership roles once they complete their study and assists them as they transition from students towards senior roles and as leaders in business.
"We are committed to giving our students the very best opportunities during their time at MGSM, and continuing to engage and nurture them as alumni, which sets them up to achieve at the highest levels in their career."
