Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health in the UAE, the only specialised Otology, Neurotology & Skull Base Surgery Event in the Middle East and North Africa Region “Dubai Otology 2014” kicks off tomorrow in its 2nd edition at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Dubai.

one of the most distinguished events in the region in the field of Otology, Neurotology & Skull Base. It is the ideal platform for local and international speakers to get an ultimate opportunity to network with one another, discuss and understand the latest advances in this highly specialised field.
This year, Dubai Otology Conference & Exhibition will host more than 30 companies promoting the most up-to-date equipment, machines and products and over 400 Regional & International E.N.T. Specialists & Surgeons, Otolaryngologists, Otologists, Neurologists, Audiologists, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists, Delegates, Trainees, Nurses, & Students.
The conference will offer its participants and attendees the chance to earn more than 30 CME Credit Hours, accredited by the Ministry of Health. Continuing medical education (CME) credits are necessary to renew medical practicing licenses in the UAE.

According to World Health Organisation, 360 million people worldwide have disabled hearing loss that can be inherited, caused by maternal rubella or complications at birth, certain infectious diseases such as meningitis, chronic ear infections, use of ototoxic drugs, exposure to excessive noise and ageing. Half of all cases of hearing loss are avoidable through primary prevention. People with hearing loss can benefit from devices such as hearing aids, assistive devices and cochlear implants, and from captioning, sign language training, educational and social support. Current production of hearing aids meets less than 10% of global need.
Dubai Otology Conference & Exhibition will be held from 16 to 18th of October 2014. It is organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, a member of INDEX Holding, and in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Health.
