The Shanghai edition of “Intelligent Green Building – IGB” exhibition platform has proven to be an effective tool for those involved with intelligent green building technologies. From 3 – 5 September, over 40,000 visitors representing 63 countries and regions flocked to Shanghai New International Expo Centre to look for one-stop building efficiency solutions ranging from HVAC and lighting products to solar building and smart control and more.

The “Intelligent Green Building – IGB” exhibition platform is an initiative introduced by Messe Frankfurt to meet the market demands for energy-efficient technologies to sustain continuous economic growth, competitiveness and environmental protection. Occupying 40,000 sqm with more than 700 exhibitors, the Shanghai edition is the first to realise the fair concept of providing total solutions on building energy efficiency under one roof. The platform staged four building technology-related events: Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology, Shanghai International Lighting Fair, ISH Shanghai & CIHE - Shanghai International Trade Fair for Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning, and Building Solar China.

Exhibitors warmly welcome business overflow from concurrent events

Exhibitors across the four events expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the exhibition platform. Ms Faye Xiang, Marketing Director at Shanghai Longchuang Eco-energy Systems Co Ltd, stated: “We are a comprehensive building efficiency solutions exhibitor at the Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair that hopes to attract more HVAC buyers – the group which has a great need for energy-saving solutions - from the concurrent events. Visitors are more willing to attend a one-stop platform that can fulfil their multiple sourcing needs.”

ISH Shanghai & CIHE exhibitors agreed. Mr Yang Kun, General Manager at Guangzhou Devotion Domestic Boilers Manufacturing Co Ltd, praised: “Our trade show strategy was originally focused on increasing our presence in the fairs specific to our industry. However, we noticed great potential from the related industries so we treasure a channel like the ‘Intelligent Green Building – IGB’ platform that gave us more brand exposure to capture the new business opportunities.”

Another exhibitor to benefit from the platform was Mr Zhao Guangchao, Deputy General Manager at Guangdong ASEAIR Heat Pump Co Ltd. Mr Zhao expressed: “Intelligent building is an integration of technologies and resources, incorporating energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products. In terms of purchasing, though our products may not have any connection with the lighting industry, we were able to attract decision makers from other sectors and promote our technologies through this platform.”

Ms Coco Yin, Building Solar China exhibitor and General Manager Assistant at Hangzhou Ovan Energy Technology Co Ltd, mentioned: “There is considerable demand for smart buildings to incorporate photovoltaic products in their designs and the IGB initiative is a comprehensive platform that enables us to be a part of providing one-stop solutions for professionals in the sustainable building industry.”

Experts and visitors praised the one-stop building efficiency solutions platform

Mr Xiangan Meng, Vice President of the China Renewable Energy Society and speaker at the Building Solar China Conference, regarded the “Intelligent Green Building – IGB” platform as a “comprehensive platform that merges interrelated industries, products and technologies to provide one-stop solutions for professionals in the sustainable building industry.”

Mr Lv Rui, Manager at Beijing Home Livable Technology Co Ltd and visitor to the Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology event, stated: “It was ideal to see the strategic combination of the building events because all heating, lighting, smart building and solar products are connected, especially in the smart home business. This entire platform was a strong channel for us to purchase all necessary products and connect with different suppliers. There is no doubt the Intelligent Green Building – IGB” platform has been beneficial to our business.”

Mr Jim Wu, Marketing Manager of WinSafe Technologies (Shanghai) Co Ltd, also expressed: “The IGB initiative is an excellent scheme to hold multiple fairs concurrently to create an integrated platform that gathers all interrelated industries under one roof and offer visitors more choices.”

Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd commented: “The positive feedback from exhibitors, visitors and industry experts confirmed the need for such a platform, especially in East and Central China. We are committed to establish this platform into an industry arena to cater to the market trends and national policies for a sustainable society.”
