SHANGHAI - ASIATODAY.COM - Building Solar China Conference and Exhibition successfully concluded its 2014 edition on 4 September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Co-organised with WIP, organiser of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC), the high-level conferences along with the product display area provided a comprehensive platform for 98 industry specialists to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and applications for smart solar building implementations in China.
The 2014 event was held in conjunction with ISH Shanghai & CIHE, Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair, and the inaugural edition of the Shanghai International Lighting Fair – collectively known as the “Intelligent Green Building - IGB” exhibition platform. These events constitute a comprehensive platform for intelligent building technologies and energy-efficient solutions.
Commenting on the success of the event, Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd stated: “The relocation of the 2014 Building Solar China – Conference and Exhibition resulted in success, and facilitates the current and future development of China’s building technology sector. Over the years, Building Solar China – Conference and Exhibition has become a well-known integrated platform for introducing the latest trends and the implementation of smart solar building applications.”
Favourable participant reviews highlight the success of the 2014 event
For 2014, prominent speakers from domestic and overseas industry associations, as well as research institutes, were invited to share their insights into the industry’s most pressing issues and breakthroughs.
Speaking for the third time, Mr. Xian Gan Meng, Vice President of the China Renewable Energy Society (CRES) expressed: “With the scarcity of natural resources and in the interest of protecting the environment, alternative energy – particularly solar-related solutions and products – will be a key trend for creating sustainable living environments. Regarding the event, it keeps getting better every year. For 2014, I was particularly pleased with the venue arrangements. The separate meeting rooms for the conference and display area provided both speakers and attendees a more intimate environment for discussions. Furthermore, I noticed an increase in attendee participation at the conference indicating more and more people are turning their attention to clean and renewable solar energy, primarily photovoltaic building and construction technologies.”
Returning speaker, Mr Nikos Fintikakis, Architect, UIA Council Member and Director of UIA – ARES International Work Programme, shared the same sentiments as he commented: ““Building Solar China – Confrence and exhibition is a fantastic way for intellectual exchange and is a great platform to obtain valuable insight to what is going on in China. I believe modern and smart architectural designs will largely be adopted by solar technology in China for creating a greener, energy-efficient and sustainable society foreseeable future.”
First-time speaker, Ms Duo Luo, Research Institute Vice President at China Singyes Solar Technologies Holding Ltd said: “The Building Solar China – Conference and Exhibition platform presented me with a fruitful opportunity to network with solar-related enterprises and manufacturers for more in-depth knowledge exchange. With regards to the future for the building and solar technology market, I foresee more and more high quality experts coming forth with fresh insights on the building and solar technology trends in China.”
Attendees also expressed unanimous praise in the event’s ability to bring together industry specialists and leaders. Mr ShuZi Chen, Research Institute Power Equipment and New Energy Analyst at Everbright Securities Co Ltd commented: “This is my first time attending and I came specifically to the conference to learn about the development of the photovoltaic industry’s dynamics. I was particularly interested in the return-on-investment rate and the national policies for the photovoltaic industry. Overall, I benefited a lot from the presented topics and was pleased with the organisation of the conference.”
Mr Zou Jikai,Technical Director of Beijing Hanergy Zhangxin PV Technology Co Ltd expressed: “I am a regular attendee to the event and I was pleased to be a part of another successful edition of the conference. The event is a very good platform for knowledge exchange. The topics covered in the event were not only in-depth but the panel speakers were extremely insightful in their corresponding areas of expertise. Overall, I think the event was beneficial and I look forward to the next edition.”
Designated display area provided interactive networking opportunities to all attendees
In addition to the full-day conference, Building Solar China – Conference and Exhibition also featured a dedicated display area.
Whether exhibitors were selling building photovoltaic systems (BIPV), curtain walls for buildings or other latest innovative energy-saving and energy-renewal solutions, they had the chance to promote their brands, as well as educate customers on their unique benefits.
Mr Xu Ning, CEO of CSC Group, both an exhibitor and presenter at the event summarized his experience: “The number of attendee increased during my speech on solar building applications, proving the presentation topics are beneficial to visitors. Additionally, the display was well executed as it attracted many industry specialists to learn more about our building integrated photovoltaic and building attached photovoltaic systems. All in all, I was very pleased with the event.”
