Automechanika Shanghai to offer another exceptional year with insightful events

SHANGHAI - ASIATODAY.COM - Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance and Accessories & Tuning highlight the 2014 concurrent programme’s themes With all available exhibition space now officially booked, Automechanika Shanghai is concentrating its efforts on once again providing an outstanding year in its range of concurrent events. Scheduled to take place from 9 – 12 December at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the fair will again confirm its status as the world’s second largest Automechanika fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, by providing a comprehensive showcase on the future of automotive after-service development in the region.

The fair’s concurrent programme has consistently been a cornerstone to its success, and 2014 is no different. With the exhibition mainly focusing on the three industry sectors of Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenances as well as Accessories & Tuning, Automechanika Shanghai 2014 will also feature a number of seminars, conferences and networking opportunities, headlined by global authority figures within the industry. Each year, Automechanika Shanghai aims to provide the latest policy updates, market tendencies and information on the leading-edge technological innovations that can improve the industry. For 2014, key topics confirmed for discussion and currently popular among China’s automotive aftermarket professionals include O2O, Connected Vehicles, EV and Anti-monopoly.

Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance and Accessories & Tuning highlight the 2014 concurrent programme’s themes Attendees can expect to gain a wealth of industry knowledge during the 2014 show. Several noteworthy events in particular highlighting Automechanika Shanghai 2014’s core themes include:

2014 Global Automotive Aftermarket Association Summit (8 December 2014) – Holding its inaugural edition at the 2014 Shanghai fair, the summit will be hosted by representatives of automotive after service associations from over 20 countries and regions as well as prominent government officials from China. Discussions will be centred on automotive aftermarket policies and the environment for marketing within different countries.

The 2014 summit will be organised by the China Automotive Maintenance and Repair Trade Association and Auto Care Association. Supporters will be provided by the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), CARPOS from Korea, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation (CNAICO).

NextGen Auto International Summit China (9 December 2014) – Celebrating its third edition, NextGen Auto will highlight the latest developments in new-energy and smart vehicles as well as lightweight automobiles. New energy vehicles in particular, is poised to be a highly popular subject for the event, as China is expected to reach a sales volume of approximately 50,000 electric vehicles in 2014. A total of 14 topics are scheduled so far during the one-day event, where some of the highlights include:

* The R&D and promotion efforts of top domestic and overseas top vehicle companies
* Opportunities and challenges: how do traditional auto parts manufacturers adapt to meet the needs of the changing market
* How to use lightweight materials for making green auto parts
* Specific requirements for new materials in processing and testing
2014 AIAG Auto Parts Purchasing Leadership and Suppliers Forum (11 December 2014) – This is the first year that the forum will take place at Automechanika Shanghai. The forum will invite global automotive companies’ procurement executives to discuss a range of topics from their business. Key areas of focus will be auto parts sourcing strategies, industry developments, sourcing requirements from OEMs and tier one autoparts suppliers as well as how to establish an efficient and responsible supply chain, quality system improvement and sub-tier suppliers management.

Auto Insurance & Aftermarket Strategic Cooperation Seminar (10 December 2014) – Co-organised with Beijing Jingyoutimes Information & Technology Development Co Ltd. With rapid changes in policies as well as regulations for the automotive aftermarket, auto insurance has become a key topic gaining more and more attention by businesses and consumers. The theme for the 2014 event is “Cooperation & Service”. During the half-day event, confirmed sessions will include a forum on auto insurance, repair and advanced aftermarket alliance, as well as award presentations to auto accidental repair-star enterprises, advanced aftermarket auto part dealers, and advanced aftermarket auto part manufacturers. Additionally there will be a seminar on self-regulation after the award presentations.

Prospects of Automotive Aftermarket E-commerce and Internet Service Providers (10 December 2014) – Jointly organised by the show organisers and the Strategic Alliance of China Internet of Vehicles Industrial Technology Innovation (IOVA), the forum will explore the impact of e-commerce suppliers, mobile data businesses, as well as the demand and prospects of the automotive aftermarket e-commerce business development following changes in the automotive industry market, environment and policy. The forum will invite experts from domestic OEMs, e-commerce providers, automotive aftermarket sector and automotive intranet platforms to discuss the most pressing issues relating to the automotive industry and e-commerce service providers.

Mr Ji Xuecheng, General Manager of the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation (CNAICO) said: "We are very proud to cooperate with a range of international associations. Automechanika Shanghai is recognised by a number of well-known industry organisations, there is no doubt that the show once again confirms its position as an effective platform. As with previous shows, this year's will once again bring together the industry players from around the world to share the latest industry trends through a series of high level forums.”

In addition to providing access to the latest industry updates, Automechanika Shanghai’s concurrent programmes also provides an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their latest R&D results and products to professional buyers and industry media. Several exhibitors are scheduled to hold seminars during the show in cooperation with Valeo, Tenneco and eBay. The 2014 show expects to provide a comprehensive outlook on China’s automotive industry for the year to come.
