Announcing the 17th edition of the Largest Dental Conference and Exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa
Dubai – United Arab Emirates, October 14th 2012: Index Conferences and Exhibitions and in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority announced the dates for the 17th edition of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition - AEEDC Dubai 2013, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, President of the Dubai Health Authority. The event will take place at the Dubai international Convention and Exhibition Centre and is scheduled from the 5th - 7th of February 2013.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding and Executive Chairman of the AEEDC Dubai Conference and Exhibition said: “AEEDC Dubai is considered one of the most significant events hosted by Dubai, due to the expansion that the event witnesses on a yearly basis. Dr. Al Madani also said that AEEDC Dubai is an outstanding opportunity for all dentists and decision makers from the public and private sectors where they can learn about the latest products and equipment revealed by the participating companies and source suppliers from prominent dentistry companies. Dr. Al Madani also announced that there are more than 900 exhibiting companies in the exhibition and 17 international pavilions representing Argentina, Brazil, China, Finland, France, Germany, Iran, Japan, Italy, Korea, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America and the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Nasser Al Malik Chairman of AEEDC Dubai Conference announced that our theme for the conference remains the same “Delivering Science and Technology” and expect more than 6000 participants to take part in the three day’s multi - scientific activity program. The AEEDC Scientific Advisory Committee has been working diligently to come up with all new program ideas and provide knowledge that shall add value.
Dr. Nasser said: “We are introducing new and diverse concepts for AEEDC Dubai 2013; first we have a symposium in “Rapid Orthodontics”, a fast developing discipline in Dental Orthodontics. Moreover, we have a dedicated full-day session the Aesthetic Dentistry, having emphasis on various updates and controversies. Both activities will be integrated in the conference program and will have keynote international speakers.” There will be also a unique session for new product announcement.
AEEDC Dubai 2013 will feature a number of intensive scientific activities such as: the GCC Preventive Dentistry Conference, AEEDC Advanced Specialty Courses, Poster and Oral Poster Presentations, the 4th AEEDC Student Competition, Global Scientific Dental Alliance Meeting, the AEEDC Dubai Awards and more.
AEEDC Advanced Speciality Courses will be running parallel to AEEDC’s Conference and will provide advanced and updated theoretical and methodological approaches concerning the topics of the specialty.
The courses will also provide systematic and comprehensive knowledge on the main and current theories in regards to different subjects of interest, enhance the practical expertise of the dental specialists, build a knowledge platform among qualified specialists across the globe and help them gain extra CME points, in addition.
Around 60 posters will be displayed during the poster presentation among which there are 26 Oral Poster Presentations. The 4th AEEDC Student Competition involves the students in an educational intellectual competition, while providing them with incentives to improve themselves.
About the AEEDC Student Competition Dr. Al Malik said: “AEEDC Student Competition provides a unique opportunity to all dental students in their last academic years to actively interact with their counterparts from different dental colleges and universities through a face-to-face competition, with a vision of exchanging information, knowledge and expanding their horizons on various issues of dentistry.”
The 10th Global Scientific Dental Alliance Meeting (GSDA) will be featured once again in conjunction with AEEDC Dubai. The GSDA will provide new ideas and will ponder on vital issues in dentistry, oral health care programs/ treatment and continuing education programs.
“In order to maintain the scientific position and value of AEEDC Dubai, and to celebrate the success that we achieved over the years we have introduced a number of awards to be given to participants and students in order to recognize the value of continuous learning.” Said Dr. Mohamed Abedin, Conference Vice Chairman of AEEDC Dubai
He continued: “The awards vary to cover both the conference and exhibition. Some shall be given during the AEEDC Dubai night. Award categories are: AEEDC Dubai Personality of the Year, the Year’s Most Significant Contribution to Oral Health, AEEDC Young Researcher Award, AEEDC Best Speaker Award, Excellence in Clinical Equipment Award, AEEDC Dubai Booth Design Award and AEEDC Dubai Booth Activities Award and for the first time Best Clinical Photo is introduced this year.”
More than 110 speakers from 25 countries are participating in the scientific activities during AEEDC. The event is expected to attract more than 28,000 visitors and participants from 132 countries. It will also be marked by the attendance of heads of delegates and officials from all participating countries.
Representation of more than 75 key decision makers from various Dental Associations and Ministries of Health - Dental Departments are expected to participate in AEEDC Dubai 2013.
Moreover, AEEDC Dubai’s organising committee annually organises the Dubai World Dental Meeting (DWDM) at the Novotel World Trade Centre Hotel. This year the DWDM is scheduled to run from 2nd and until 4th of February 2013. The DWDM is an educational pre-conference courses running prior to AEEDC Dubai with 7 speakers coming to Dubai from Chile, Germany, Lebanon and USA. Those specialists will be delivering their latest and most updated practices in dentistry to more than 200 participants.
