November 12, 2014 ‧ Hong Kong - ASIATODAY.COM - Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) has organised the annual event “Hong Kong ICT Awards (HKICT Awards): Best Business Solution Award” for 9 years in a row, with the aim to acknowledge the achievement of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) business applications and products. “HKICT Awards 2015: Best Business Solution Award” is now open for application. The Award comprises 2 categories this year, namely, Best Business Solution (Application) Award and Best Business Solution (Product) Award. All outstanding local ICT enterprises are welcome to apply for participate in the Award from 3 November 2014 to 16 January 2015.
“HKICT Awards 2015: Best Business Solution Award” is one of the ten Award Categories in “Hong Kong ICT Awards 2015”. It aims to improve the service qualities and product qualities and to enhance the operating efficiency and overall competitiveness of ICT enterprises. More importantly, HKCS hopes to promote greater use of ICT in the community, which includes helping to create a culture of ICT usage in business as well as in daily life.
“HKICT Awards 2015: Best Business Solution Award” includes Best Business Solution (Application) Award and Best Business Solution (Product) Award. As always, Gold, Silver, Bronze trophies or certificates will be presented to category winners respectively, and a Grand Award will also be selected from the Gold Awards by HKCS. Lastly, the “HKICT Awards 2015” Grand Adjudication Panel led by Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong, will select the ultimate “Award of the Year” from the 10 Grand Awards.
To recognize the outstanding applications and products of Cloud, there will be “The Most Innovative (Cloud) Award” this year selected from the winners of “Best Business Solution (Application) Award” and “Best Business Solution (Product) Award” respectively. For “Best Business Solution (Application) Award”, the organisation with the most innovative application which uses Cloud as the primary and main platform for functions’ processing and delivery will be awarded; For “Best Business Solution (Product) Award”, the product or service with the most innovative use of Cloud-based technologies and the subscription-based business model for the delivery of its service to the users will be also be awarded.
Ir. Allen Yeung, Director of Talent Cultivation of HKCS, is the Chairperson of “HKICT Awards 2015: Best Business Solution Award”. He pointed out that “the awards from HKICT Awards serve to encourage ICT innovations, and to promote exploitation of ICT technology. This will further attract talents and investments to Hong Kong. The overall competitiveness of Hong Kong will be raised as a result.”
Ir Yeung added that “for previous HKICT Awards winners, their achievements have been well recognized by the community and they have been where appropriate nominated to join other international awards and competitions. For example, most of the past Hong Kong delegates of the highly acclaimed Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Awards (APICTA) were HKICT Awards winners. Therefore, HKCS encourages all local registered ICT companies to actively join “HKICT Awards 2015: Best Business Solution Award” and achieve further great success for Hong Kong elites.”

The Hong Kong ICT Awards were established in 2006 with the collaborative efforts of the industry, academia and the Government.
