The monographic section inaugurates its own website on the occasion of its fifth anniversary, which will be held as part of FITUR 2015 from 28 January to 1 February 2015 at FERIA DE MADRID
Madrid, 18 November 2014 - ASIATODAY.COM - FITUR GAY (LGBT), organised by the International Tourism Trade Show, FITUR, in collaboration with Diversity Consulting, being aware of the considerable expansion and impetus that the LGBT tourism and business segment is acquiring – with a registered annual growth of 12% – will host the 5th staging of these professional workshops in a space specifically devoted to the exchange and promotion of LGBT tourism experiences.
After five years of writing the GAY (LGBT) story, collaborating to promote the normalisation of LGBT in the tourism industry as well as in business and in the academic world of the business schools and major companies and institutions such as the UNWTO, IGLTA or Turespaña, the development and growth of this important sector has now become a reality. Recent social acceptance and normalisation events, both nationally and internationally, from the breakthrough of same-sex marriage to the new family models and the significant evolution of LGBT business, have encouraged the staging of the 5th FITUR GAY (LGBT) 2015 event with a wide array of novelties.
As for the actions being presented as part of FITUR, we should highlight the broad representation of SMEs in this year’s workshops after the great success they enjoyed in the last edition, with more than 50,000 visitors coming to Hall 3, “The Americas”, the same spot they will occupy this year.
Also noteworthy is the creation of the official FITUR GAY (LGBT) website, www.FiturLGBT.com where, in addition to having access to all the information to raise awareness of the GAY (LGBT) segment and the scheduling of academic events and conferences due to take place during the 2015 staging, an interaction system will be made available in its blogs section intended for all the exhibitor companies, destinations and users. This tool will also facilitate participants’ collaboration in competitions, as it will allow voting by the people and organisations that are most active in favour of the LGBT community. Next to this, an employment section will be enabled in which to apply for and offer jobs within this tourism segment.
The weekend actions will be enhanced with numerous activities open to the general public and focusing on raising awareness of the LGBT segment as well as boosting direct sales of the end product. Among the more eye-catching are big musicals, demonstrations of magic tricks, singers, DJs… all making the FITUR GAY (LGBT) area an indispensable venue for the weekend.
Anyone interested in learning about all the novelties that form part of the 5th-anniversary celebrations of FITUR GAY (LGBT) can find information on the website www.fiturlgbt.com.
