Bangkok, Thailand 26th Nov 2014 – ASIATODAY.COM - The Thai Retailers Association organizes its 1st press conference at Arnoma Hotel Bangkok on 26th Nov 2014 to announce the launch of a strategic initiative with IMPACT Exhibition Organizer & Globe International Events Consultancy to launch the inaugural RetailEX ASEAN 2015 & FranchisEX ASEAN 2015 (2 Co-located Events) scheduled to take place from 17 – 19 September 2015 at IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. At the same time, this is also the first foray by the Thai Retailers Association into the organization of trade shows and the association aims to position these 2 trade shows as the leading platforms for trade in the ASEAN Retailing, Franchise & Licensing industry especially with AEC 2015 opening a great window of economic opportunities for the entire region.
The 2 co-located events aim to bring together eminent business leaders in the Retail, Franchising & Licensing industry both from Thailand and globally to congregate and tap the growing ASEAN Retail, Franchising & Licensing industry with a population of over 600 million and a market size of over US$14 billion and still growing with a rising middle income and rapid economic development. Thailand which has long been envisioned as a hub of ASEAN and provides the right economic conditions as a key emerging economy of ASEAN is therefore the best location in ASEAN to launch these 2 shows and this is evident in Globe International Events Consultancy from Singapore joining the 2 shows as a co-organiser.
The partnership between the Thai Retailers Association, IMPACT Exhibition Organizer, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. & Globe International Events Consultancy in co-organising the 2 shows showcases strong involvement by the 3 parties representing respectively the local industry, the professional exhibition venue & organizer as well as a foreign partner with grounded experience in developing regional trade shows and this reflects the strong confidence in the Thailand Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry which has the ambitions to be the key driver of the ASEAN Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry.
“Thailand’s open-economic policy has been responsible for a strong growth in recent years which has benefitted the Thai Retailing industry. As the key representative association of the Thai Retailing industry, the Thai Retailers Association aims to support its members in leveraging on this high growth rate to modernize their business operations for better positioning of their businesses regionally especially with the impending AEC 2015 lending support to regional business expansion.
The ASEAN economy is expected to double by 2020 to reach a nominal gross domestic product of USD 4.7 trillion and I feel that it is time for Thai retailers to prepare for this rapid growth that will grow the middle class affluence in ASEAN more rapidly. However, the lack of an appropriate trade platform in Thailand for retailers to explore expansion efforts and growth of their businesses could possibly impede efforts by Thai businesses to tap on AEC 2015. Therefore, the Thai Retailers Association decided to launch RetailEX ASEAN 2015 & FranchisEX ASEAN 2015 together with IMPACT Exhibition Organizer, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. & Globe International Events Consultancy as part of our strategic initiative to fill the market gap for Retail, Franchising & Licensing solutions which will elevate the development of Thai Retailers to the next level which will hold them in good grounds for AEC 2015. Regional Competition arising from AEC 2015 may not be as frightening a prospect as Thai businesses imagine. With the right platform and resources to assist their development, I strongly believe that the Thai Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry is more than capable to emerge stronger and better than ever before.
Also, the 2 shows will be serious business platforms that strive to help in differentiating & developing sustainable businesses within ASEAN and this is basically a congregation of ASEAN retailers in Bangkok to learn and shop for everything that has to do with the Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry. I believe that the strong commitment shown by our association as well as our co-organisers will make these 2 shows the leading Retail, Franchise & Licensing trade platforms in ASEAN which will in turn position Thailand as the top Retail hub in ASEAN”, said Ms Jariya Chirathivat, President, Thai Retailers Association
“Global International Events Consultancy is honoured to be given the opportunity to work with the representative association of Thai retailers as well as a world class exhibition venue & organizer to launch RetailEX ASEAN 2015 & FranchisEX ASEAN 2015. We believe that our team of experienced exhibition veterans will be able to contribute in assisting these 2 inaugural shows to gain regional recognition as well as bring more business opportunities to Thailand. The shows are conceptualized to make Thailand the destination of networking opportunities, business development, technology
updates, trend forecast, trade information and advisory services, expansion opportunities, ideas & knowledge exchange, establishing commercial linkages and tapping economic potentials for all who are involved in the ASEAN Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry. The 2 shows also run a series of concurrent international conferences as well as awards to create the truly regional platforms for education, service & standards in the ASEAN Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry. Given the support we have from the local industry and our partners, we are confident that these 2 shows will be renowned throughout ASEAN in time to come” Ms Rosalind Ng, Managing Director, Globe International Events Consultancy.
“RetailEX ASEAN 2015 & FranchisEX ASEAN 2015 will feature a wide-ranging of business resources for the Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry and are the professional platforms where industry players can find all relevant business solutions. This is a very exciting start for the industry and I am confident that these 2 events will grow rapidly in the next few years to be the leading trade platforms for the Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry in ASEAN and perhaps Asia. It is of great pleasure that IMPACT Exhibition Management is able to lend its professional experience & expertise not just as a venue provider but also as a co-organizer. The involvement of IMPACT Exhibition Organizer, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. in these 2 events also displays our strong commitment to promoting the local industries and this is evident in the wide ranging portfolio of events we already have. We strongly believe that Thailand can be a major hub for the Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry in ASEAN”, said Mr Loy Joon How, General Manager, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd.
“RetailEx ASEAN & FranchisEX ASEAN 2015 are supported by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau. As the Thai government’s official flagship body for the MICE sector, a core part of TCEB’s mission is to support the vibrant MICE industry. The bureau works towards building collaborative networks between private and public counterparts which will contribute towards the overall economic growth for ASEAN. With implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community or AEC in 2015, we can look forward to even better collaboration and enhanced attractiveness as a region for investment and development. Today, the RetailEx ASEAN and FranchisEX ASEAN 2015 team is undertaking efforts to launch the regional platforms for the Retailing, Franchising & Licensing industry, a fine example of tapping upon the unifying benefits of the AEC. Similarly, TCEB’s attractive visitor promotion policy and Thailand CONNECT campaign, showcasing a diversity of destinations, unrivalled business opportunities and high quality professionals and standards, is not just bringing business opportunities to Thailand but also regionally”, said Mr Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, President, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau.
