Strong trading relation between Vietnam and Thailand leads to economic opportunities in AEC 2015
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, December 3, 2014 –Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB has organized a roadshow to promote Thailand’s new incentive scheme for Vietnam trade show industry. The effort is to continue driving the dynamic of business match making opportunities between Thai private sector and prospects in Vietnam.
The roadshow aims to connect Thai leading exhibition organizers with Vietnamese trade associations, chamber of commerce, and travel agents on business opportunities in ASEAN through exhibition platform in Thailand. TCEB serves as a partner for Vietnamese stakeholders by offering a solution for business success and endorsing strong trading relation between two countries with Trade Promoter Reward Program as a key driver in generating mutual benefits for industry stakeholders.
Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Exhibitions and Events Director of TCEB introduced the Trade Promoter Reward Program as an incentive program to reward Trade Promoter who achieve in organizing group or a trade mission at certain number to participate and conduct business matching at an international trade exhibition in Thailand. TCEB will accumulate the achieved number of visitors from each Trade Promoter based on number of visitors shown in actual support confirmation letter throughout the calendar year of 2015 (January – December) and give incentive to Vietnamese Trade Promoter with the Reward Program.
With the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, South East Asian region will become more diversified and importantly, more challenging. The exhibition industry will also have an economic impact towards the establishment of AEC 2015. TCEB’s Trade Promoter Reward Program will help strengthen Vietnam and Thailand’s long reputable trading relation based on key industrial sectors including food and agriculture, automotive and machinery.
Thailand is an attractive destination for both business and leisure purposes with richness in culture and resources that can provide business success for Vietnamese exhibition visitors with strong exhibition platform offering international-standard infrastructure, convention centers, high quality facilities nationwide, 6 international airports, cutting-edge technology and telecommunication 3G/4G, and a stunning number of quality hotel accommodation. In 2013, Thailand welcomed 77 trade fairs generating an estimated revenue of over US$174 million ranking 8th in Asia with 3,488 Vietnamese visitors accumulating 9.3% of the total international exhibition visitors.

The roadshow in Vietnam started in Hanoi on December 1, 2014 and ended in Ho Chi Minh City on December 3, 2014 featuring Trade Promoter Workshop of Connect Businesses Campaign, Business Forum of “ Business in Thailand: Your Borderless Business Potential & New Incentive Program Launch for Vietnam Market” with a panel discussion on “Business Opportunities in ASEAN through Exhibition Platform in Thailand,” and the high network individual from Vietnamese, Thai trade show organizer, and Thai Team will strengthen relationship for future business opportunities and establish new partnership to gear forward co-operation between Vietnam and Thailand. This business matching initiated by TCEB will not only help strengthen Vietnam-Thailand business relationship but also help drive the dynamic of the economic success in ASEAN market.
The Trade Promoter Reward Program is extended from the existing Connect Businesses Campaign which aims to incentivize business-oriented leads to attend and do the business matching at international trade shows in Thailand. The eligible bodies that may apply for this program include trade promoters, chamber of commerce, business trade association, overseas industrial publication, overseas non-profit organization, and Trade Promoter.
