The workshop will take an in-depth look at the internationalisation and commercialisation of the Spanish tourism sector in Latin America
FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Show organised by IFEMA from 28 January to 1 February 2015 at FERIA DE MADRID, is hosting the 18th Latin American Conference for Tourism Ministers and Businessmen, which this year will discuss issues of great importance in the tourism sector such as the internationalisation of Spanish tourism businesses and the marketing of Latin American destinations in Spain. Also participating in CIMET 2015 will be the presidents of Spanish tourism business organisations and Latin American tourism ministers.
The opening ceremony of the 18th Latin American Conference for Tourism Ministers and Businessmen, CIMET, which will be attended by numerous Spanish institutional tourism and business authorities, will mark the official launch of the workshop, which is intended for promoting the introduction and development of Spanish businesses in Latin American territory. The opening ceremony will be followed by the Debate for Latin American Tourism Ministers and Presidents of Spanish Tourism Business Organisations, where each participating minister will have 5 minutes to present the plans and incentives offered by their respective governments in order to foster the internationalisation of Spanish tourism companies. Furthermore, the prominent businesspeople from this sector who are attending may ask the ministers questions relating to the introduction of hoteliers and operators in Latin America, which they will be able to answer during their interventions.
Together with the presentations of the ministerial representatives, and with the idea of reaching collaboration agreements between Spanish businesses and Latin American destinations, various Spanish operators will speak on the qualities presented by the Spanish sector and its important organisational development capacity in internationalisation and commercialisation within Latin America. The Tourism Council of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations, CEOE, will be one of the main organisations present at the debate, actively participating together with the Spanish Confederation of Hotel and Accommodation Associations, CEHAT – the largest hospitality organisation at state level – and the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agency Associations, CEAV.
To finish, tribute will be paid to some prominent personalities from Spanish tourism in Latin America 2015, Carmen Riu and Luis Riu, CEOs of the RIU Hotels Group, who will be presented with the CIMET 2015 gold and diamond badge and the Honour Diploma as Dignitaries of Spanish Tourism in Latin America. The event will end with the official closing ceremony, with the participation of authorities from Spanish tourism institutions and businesses, marking the end of the 18th Latin American Conference for Tourism Ministers and Businessmen, CIMET.
