NOVEMBER 15TH 2012, SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – 10,700 visitors and 131 exhibitors (233 booths from 9 countries) at the Vietnam International Shop and Franchise Show 2012, held at SECC, Ho Chi Minch City, from November 1st – 3rd, benefitted from a range of concurrent events designed by event organizer Coex to optimize participator business success.
Of particular significance at VIETSF 2012 was the schedule of customized biz-matching meetings designed to provide like-minded buyers and exhibitors at the show opportunities to mutually promote and expand their businesses. 63 companies joined the customized 1:1 biz-matching program and a total of 553 meetings took place –average of 9 biz-matching meetings was assured for each exhibitors. 283 hosted buyers from countries including Vietnam, Japan, Canada, Australia and Singapore visited VIETSF 2012 to take advantage of this unique business platform, with Korean corporation Jeju Magma Bio Energy Co. LTD., already signing an MOU with Vietnam-based ATZ Healthy Life as a result of the VIETSF 2012 biz-matching initiative.
Another popular feature of the Vietnam International Shop and Franchise Show this year included the Medical Tourism Pavilion, sponsored by the city council of Seoul’s Gangnam district. The Medical Tourism Pavilion capitalized upon Korea’s increasing popularity within the global fashion and beauty markets by showcasing the many services Gangnam’s well-known plastic surgery, dermatology and dental hospitals provide. A delegation of leading doctors and investors from Singapore in particular expressed a positive response to the possibility of future business relationships with the Korean medical industry, after experiencing the diversity of medical innovations on offer in Gangnam. The Singaporean medical delegation also took advantage of the biz-matching program, with a total of 105 meetings between medical professionals and Vietnam buyers happening at the Medical Tourism Pavilion. The Gangnam Medical Pavilion further pleased visitors by performing a version of the recent pop hit ‘Gangnam Style’, while concurrent informative medical seminars and meetings also proved popular with visitors.
VIP guests to VIETSF 2012 included the Vice President of Coex, Seoul, the Director of the Korea Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the President of Gangnam-gu District Office and the Vice Minister of Minsitry of Industry & Trade of Vietnam, all of whom helped formally open the trade show in a special opening ceremony. Representatives from well-known media outlets in both Korea and Vietnam also attended the exhibition to report on this unique events’ ongoing success.
