As of 2015, Indonesia has the fourth largest population in the world. It is also the biggest economy in Southeast Asia. Jakarta is experiencing a boom in high-rise construction, and a rapid transit system (MRT) that will run through the heart of the city is currently under construction.
Such dramatic growth has also created a set of social problems—a rapid increase in water needs and the pollution of water resources. Under environmental regulations established in 2010 by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment, the government has issued a number of directives to improve the pollution problem, which is expected to remain a major issue as the country continues to grow.
It is in this environment that Envitech Perkasa, a Toshiba Group company, has been conducting water and wastewater treatment projects throughout Indonesia.
Envitech Perkasa has vast experience in designing, procuring, and constructing water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as offering operational and maintenance services after handover. The company has developed plants for industrial and public use—as well as for use in power stations - in over 200 locations, and for a wide variety of industries.
Backed by their experience, as well as Toshiba’s project management and quality assurance expertise, Envitech Perkasa has managed to take on even difficult large-scale construction projects.
The videos here show footage of expansion work done on the large-scale water treatment plant installed in MM2100—an industrial park located in the Bekasi Regency—and a look into a water treatment plant installed specifically for the Lotte Indonesia plant located inside the complex. There is also footage of the wastewater treatment plant installed in Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC)—capable of treating up to 5,500 m3 per day.
Through close cooperation with its group companies located around the world, Toshiba is able to offer customers a total solution package that combines a number of different technologies in ways that best address the local, cultural, and environmental factors involved in the project. In doing so, Toshiba helps its customers set up sustainable water systems and establish smart communities.
