Tank Storage Asia, taking place on 11–12 December 2012 at Singapore Expo, is set to be bigger than ever. With Singapore the acknowledged Asian hub for the international petroleum trade, the event will bring together leading terminal operators, oil majors and petrochemical companies with the industry’s most exciting manufacturers, suppliers and experts, to network, source new technologies and catch up with latest industry thinking.

The event, will feature over 30 exhibitors spanning tank design, construction and maintenance, through to innovations in metering & measuring, pumps & valves, automation & loading equipment and inspection & certification services. They include Bornemann, Endress + Hauser, Kanon Loading Equipment, Vacono, Ateco Tank Technology, Carbovac, Rosen and Dantec.

Many are using Tank Storage Asia to launch major new technologies. For instance HMT, the global leader in aboveground storage tank solutions, will unveil its new VaporVault™ Composite Floating Cover at the show. This represents a major breakthrough in the Oil-Water Separator Floating Cover market.

Magnetrol, which specialises in process control and level instrumentation, will have its full range of products on show including the Eclipse® Guided Wave Radar transmitters, Pulsar® Through-Air Radar transmitters and the Echotel® Ultrasonic Contact switches and Ultrasonic Non-Contact transmitters.
SchuF Fetterolf, the valve design and manufacturing company, launched its latest line blinding system, the Cam-Slide, in 2012. The new four bolt design requires less space, owing to its reduced body size, and thus has a lower weight and smaller body size. The new design allows for much higher-pressure applications and the sliding action of the square spectacle pate, eliminates the space required by a swinging-type line blind.

Emerson Process Management will show the Rosemount Raptor Tank Gauging System. Raptor can be used for refineries, tank terminals and in the petrochemical industry. It is ideal for custody transfer, process control, inventory control or for filling a tank without risk of overflow and can be designed for SIL 3 safety.

Energy saving will be a focus on the Philadelphia Mixing Solutions stand. Its products include the Cutlass™ side-entry mixer which, teamed with the Lancer™ Advanced Pitch Propeller, provides energy savings of up to 40%. The company’s expert, Christopher Hastings, will also be on hand to talk about lowering electrical energy consumption, improving tank integrity and oil movement performance in aboveground storage tanks.

Dynaglass Reinforced Plastic PTE, which develops and manufactures high performance moulded fibreglass products, will be focusing on its Vap-O-Loc Internal Floating Roof at Tank Storage Asia 2012. The patented design is 100% leak proof, has an excellent weight to strength ratio, is quick to install, maintenance-free and virtually unsinkable.

Running alongside the exhibitors will be a top-flight, paid for, two-day conference covering the whole Asia region - from the Middle East to China and New Zealand. The world-renowned line-up of speakers includes Tan Wooi Leong, Vice President (Oil & Gas) at Jurong Consultants, Sanjeev Sisaudi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Petrochem, Brent Cooper, Terminal Operations Manager at Z Energy, Matthew Blake, Director of Business Development at Teekay and Mohamed Merican, Lead Consultant at TRI-ZEN.

During the packed programme, the speakers will provide a real insight into key factor shaping the bulk liquid storage industry. They will explore economic issues such as the outlook for the bulk liquid storage market in Asia, opportunities in China and predicted tanker market supply and demand for the next five years. There will also be many practical sessions such as how to integrate biofuels into storage terminals, and lessons learned from the Christchurch earthquakes, Buncefield and Jaipur disasters in terms of tank and terminal structural integrity and disaster preparedness.

Commenting on the show, Matt Benyon, Managing Director of Tank Storage Asia said:
“Asia is a vital region within the petrochemical industry and Singapore sits at its heart. Singapore alone registers almost US$300 billion worth of annual oil trade and more than 30 million metric tonnes of annual bunker fuel oil sales. That’s why we feel our event has all the right ingredients. It’s perfectly located; it has a great mix of exhibitors working at the top of their game, and a packed programme of world-class speakers. We’re absolutely committed to giving this crucial industry an event where decision makers can network and do business and I think we’ve done it. However, our vision is a long term one, and this is just the start. Next year will be bigger and even better.”
