The size of the annual Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA) hit a new high this year as the exhibition has taken place in conjunction with other four related trade fairs, boosting its visibility.

The Taipei AMPA, which kicked off at Exhibition Hall 1 and the Nangang Exhibition Hall of the Taipei World Trade Center, ran through April 11 along with four other exhibitions to expand the scale of the trade show to that of a "mega show" this year.

The four other exhibitions were the Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show, the Taiwan International Motorcycle Show, the Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show, and the Tuning & Car Care Taiwan Show.

The number of exhibitors at the five trade shows rose about 4 percent from a year earlier to 1,401 firms from Taiwan and abroad, while the number of booths also rose 4 percent year-on-year to 3,816.

Amid rising interest in the Taipei AMPA and the four other trade fairs, both the exhibitor and booth figures for the 2015 show hit record highs.

Among the 1,401 exhibitors, a total of 205 came from abroad, adding that several foreign countries such as China, Thailand and Malaysia have set up special pavilions.

According to the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association, exports of Taiwan-made auto parts for 2014 totaled US$6.64 billion, up 4.96 percent from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association said that the association will organize delegations to visit Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, Iran and China later in the year to seek business opportunities overseas.
