“Light is about imagination” celebrates the fair’s 20th anniversary and highlights development of lighting industry
In the past two decades, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition has been facilitating industry convergence for the lighting sector worldwide, making it an ideal networking hub for experts and decision-makers involved in the lighting industry. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the show is renowned as the most influential and comprehensive lighting and LED event in Asia, and will once again be held from 9 – 12 June 2015 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.
This year, 2015, marks a special year for the international lighting design community as it was proclaimed as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL 2015). Organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the IYL 2015 highlights the importance of light, optical technologies and more importantly, how the technology impacts the development of society.
Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, noted: “The IYL 2015 is a meaningful and important event for the lighting industry. We are honoured that the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition has become a gold sponsor of this global event as it shares the same vision as IYL 2015. Through our interactive platform, we would like to reiterate the importance of lighting technology, how it impacts our daily lives, enhances well-being and more. Additionally, with our strong line-up of concurrent events, we hope to converge specialists from around the world, turning the fair into a breeding ground for knowledge exchange and cross border collaborations.”
