The 2nd annual Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS), one of Southwest China’s leading automotive trading platforms, is returning this year with much more to offer. CAPAS will open its doors from 21 – 23 May 2015 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center occupying 35,000 sqm of exhibition space. This year, the fair is expected to host more than 20,000 global buyers to meet with approximately 650 worldwide exhibitors on-site, which is a 10 percent increase from last year’s show.
The automotive market in Southwest China has grown significantly, with many manufacturers establishing factories in the region. There are countless opportunities for growth and a solid automotive industry environment in the area and this is why many key enterprises are willing to invest in CAPAS, they include Asia-Pacific, Huaqiang, Huirun, Liqui Moly, Lu’s, Ruili, Songtian, Torch Spark and WD-40. The show has also earned a number of leading companies as newcomers: Aborn, Autoaid, BLACKVIEW, Botny, Delian, FCAR, GSP, MBM, Musicson, Sheng Hua Bo, YILUDA and ZONYI.
Exploring this booming market potential has been successful for many businesses and many more are planning to attend CAPAS 2015, which has boosted the number of pavilions at the exhibition.
Due to CAPAS 2014’s success and the desire of a growing number of overseas markets to tap into the resources and opportunities of the region, more support from regional trade committees and industry associations to organise various local and overseas pavilions has resulted. There will be two new overseas pavilions from Taiwan and Singapore present at this year’s fair. The two will be showcasing their latest products and technologies to the buyers and distributors at CAPAS 2015. The Singaporean pavilion is supported by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and will have a significant presence at this year’s show.
Doubling in size this year is the Sichuan Pavilion, which is organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan). This year, half the pavilion will consist of suppliers and manufacturers new to the CAPAS show. Increasing the presence of suppliers and manufacturers from the major automotive industry resource base of Sichuan province, including quality dealers and distributors from the cities of Guang'an, Neijiang and Ziyang, will ignite more investment interest and provide a greater variety of products and services to the increasing number of professional buyers and end users expected.
Thanks to the support from regional government agencies, industry associations, media and various organisations, many visitor groups from the Sichuan-Chongqing region with approximately 8,600 local Parts & Components agents, distributors, dealers and service providers, such as 4S shops and manufacturers, will be present at the show. Visitor groups have also expanded geographically. Quality buyers from a broader range of regions including Chongqing, Gansu, Guangdong, Guizhou, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Sichuan and Yunnan are prepared to source at the show. Additionally, buyers are attracted to visit the show especially from the Asian countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Interactive fringe programme provides hands-on experience with new industry technologies and products
CAPAS 2015 covers the whole industry chain, including the three main sectors: Parts & Components, Accessories & Tuning and Repair & Maintenance, and the fringe programme events spotlight these categories.
One such event highlighted during the fringe programme is the real car tuning experience, which allows visitors to participate in and learn about the latest vehicle tuning in addition to maintenance technologies and products in the field.
With methods and processes constantly changing and improving in the industry, a number of consulates such as Hungary, Israel and Malaysia, as well as local and overseas industry associations’ representatives will introduce their local automotive and aftermarket sector positions and demand for Chinese automotive products at the CAPAS Southwest China Automotive Aftermarket Purchasing Forum held concurrently with the show.
In addition to the interactive activity and informative forum, other events include the visit programme, which is an excellent opportunity to see first-hand the inner workings of the regional companies. It is unique in that it allows visitors to tour the regional OE manufacturer factories and Auto Accessories City to experience the current market setting and local company culture, giving a stronger concept of the product and business.
Additionally, other seminars will be held as part of the fringe programme in order to better foster a stronger understanding of the developing automotive industry in Southwest China and its neighbouring countries and regions. The chance to further explore business opportunities through new products and technologies will also be possible at the show. Exhibitors will be offering product demonstrations and presentations on the latest advancements in the industry.
CAPAS is organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan).
