Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 1, 2015: INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, a member of INDEX Holding, officially announced today, during a press conference that was held at Conrad Hotel, that Dubai will host Game Evolution, (formerly known as World Game Championship – WGC) the leading eSports event in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, on the 6th and 7th of November 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Over the past years, INDEX has sponsored the UAE national team to several international top tournaments in Korea, China, USA, and Spain. Through Game Evolution, INDEX continues to promote eSports for the youth in the UAE, as it is part of its commitment to provide gamers with an ultimate platform for competitive gaming. INDEX has successfully organized a number of eSports events in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Muscat, Kuwait, and Al Manama. The organizing committee announced during the press conference today that Game Evolution is expected to attract over 10,000 gamers from various nationalities, and it will be open to public with activities for gamers of all ages.
The press conference was presided by Eng. Anas Al Madani, Vice - Chairman and CEO of INDEX Holding and Mr. Rashed Al Zaabi, Owner, of Dragon Master for electronics participating in Game Evolution, during which they elaborated on the importance of ‘Game Evolution’ that will showcase latest game technologies and video games tournaments pitting local and international gamers against each other. The event aims to promote eSports as a professional spectator sport in the region and bring the attention of communities from around the world to the Middle East.
Game Evolution will bring together the community of gamers in the region all while promoting healthy competition. It will be the ideal platform for international, regional and local professional gamers and talents of all ages to compete against one another in different games and across different platforms. The event will also support youth culture in the Gulf region, providing a place for gamers to gather, compete, and take their skills to the next level.
Eng. Anas Al Madani, Vice - Chairman and CEO of INDEX Holding said: “According to research company SuperData Research, the global eSports market revenues have reached $613M in 2015. Additionally, the viewership of eSports events has climbed to 134 million viewers worldwide. Established hardware vendors, retailers, resellers, regional video games professionals and fans all have something to bring - and will all find something to take away. Through the exhibition that will be running parallel to the tournaments, we are also trying to support the UAE nationals and local businesses to bring their small companies to the international scene. ”

It is worth mentioning that professional gaming teams will compete in two major and widespread PC games within the community: Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Individual players will have the chance to compete in the four different console games like: Mortal Kombat: X, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Super Smash Bros. 4, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2015. Finalists from qualifying rounds held in June and September will be invited to the main event in November to compete for the grand prize in their respective tournament. The organizers announced that the gross amount of cash and prizes will reach 150,000 AED.
