Seoul, Korea, May 28, 2015 – Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the government agency tasked with promoting and developing Thailand’s MICE industry, organized TCEB Roadshow Korea 2015 “Thailand: Your Global Business Events Connection” in Seoul to introduce privileges under TCEB’s “Thailand Connect the World” campaign for Korean convention organizers and exhibition trade visitors.
The roadshow is in cooperation with Exhibition Department and Convention Department aiming to promote Thailand as a preferred MICE destination that connects ASEAN to the world. With the full implementation of AEC in the year 2015 and Thailand’s political situation that is reconciling, Thailand will have a smooth transition, ready to become a strategic gateway in the region.
Thailand Connect the World campaign builds on the strong legacy of the three fundamental pillars of Thailand’s business event industry which are Destinations, Businesses, and People by showcasing the best of all three elements. Thailand never fails as the most sought out destination for visitors with a brilliant blend of local activities enabling Thailand to play host to any business event in any season creating a unique experience inspired by nature. Expansion of airports and railroads including GMS Economics Corridors will see the country emerge rapidly as an ideal destination for global business events. Thailand creates borderless business potential through stable and sustainable business event industry growth in the biggest marketplace with a regional population around 3,358 million. It is an international commercial hub and leading producer of global industries endorsed by strong market recognition and robust government collaboration and support in free trade area. Thailand’s skilled business events workforce not only boasts world-leading expertise, but also ‘glocalised’ service with local flexibility which will help ensure business events success.
Ms. Vichaya Soonthornsaratoon, Convention Promotion Director of TCEB commented on the potential collaboration between Korean and Thai business event sectors, stating that, “As the Thai government’s official flagship body for the business event sector, we are proud to build on the strong and long-standing relationship between Korea and Thailand and would like to invite Korean associations to select Thailand as a venue for their meetings.”
TCEB is also offering special incentives for conventions to be held in Thailand, through the Convene and Connect campaign, which features three key elements: Connect People encourages networking by enhancing organizers’ social events such as a support for cultural performance for a smaller group and a support for reception for the convention with minimum 300 delegates. Connect Business also helps organizers of conventions to gain more attendees from ASEAN+6 countries, through support for up to three marketing activities per event, with maximum support of 200,000 baht per activity. Finally, Connect Destination offers delegates to all TCEB-supported conventions held in Bangkok in 2015 with a welcome package that includes a BTS pass and free Wi-Fi connection.
