Interior Lifestyle China, the country’s leading international trade event for household products and accessories, is now just three months away, and takes place against a backdrop of changing lifestyles and increasing demand for overseas brands amongst Chinese consumers. Last year’s fair attracted more than 21,000 visitors from 60 countries and regions and was the largest in the event’s history, a reflection of the growing importance of this market in China. The 2015 show will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 17 – 19 September 2015.

A number of overseas suppliers and distributors with international brands are returning to Interior Lifestyle China this year after experiencing this potential for themselves at previous editions. One such company is Kitchenspring, a Chinese distributor of high-end European and Asian houseware and premium hotel supplies, with Deputy General Manager Ms Grace Chen explaining: “Nowadays, the demand for high quality, branded home products in China is growing and cannot be ignored. China will become a very important market as consumers continue their pursuit of brands.”

German cookware supplier WOLL is another repeat exhibitor, and returns after a positive experience in 2014 according to Ms Delia Dai, Brand Director. Commenting on the potential in the domestic market, she said: “Chinese consumers are paying more attention to their health nowadays, so are willing to spend more money to buy home products that can lead to a healthy lifestyle.”

British firm Portmeirion Group, a supplier of tableware, cookware, giftware and tabletop accessories and a first-time exhibitor this year, will be showcasing its iconic British brands Portmeirion, Spode & Royal Worcester at the fair. “China is a key consumer market for Portmeirion Group,” explained Mr Dave Wheeldon. “Its demand for high quality, well designed and historically respected brands is perfectly aligned to Portmeirion’s offerings.”

Interior Lifestyle China regarded as best platform to exploit this potential

While many overseas and domestic suppliers can see the potential in China, they also regard Interior Lifestyle China as the best platform to take advantage of this. “This fair is the best platform in China to enhance brand awareness and showcase your products,” Kitchenspring’s Grace Chen commented. “It is known as a high-end interior lifestyle exhibition, and is visited by buyers from well-known shopping malls in China. In addition, by exhibiting here we can learn about the latest market trends so we can adjust our products and branding to meet the demands of the market.”

Portmeirion Group’s Dave Wheeldon concurred. “Interior Lifestyle China provides us with the ideal opportunity to successfully launch our brands and engage with the Chinese retail market.”

Interior Lifestyle China 2015 is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd. For more information about the fair, please visit www.il-china.com.
