SASS’ Debut MV, < Sing Out Singapore >

Strong, feisty and dynamic, SASS is Singapore’s newest all-female vocal trio set to rock your world with their smooth harmonies and their distinct Pop, Hip Hop & R&B-inspired sound.

The girls (Sophie, Ain & Sasha) were crowned Senior Vocal Group Champions at the World Championships of Performing Arts held at Hollywood, July last year. Since then, they have been making their mark in the music industry – covering numerous chart-topping hits as well as collaborating with renowned regional artistes such as Soo Wincci (MY) and Jack & Rai (SG).

< Sing Out Singapore > is SASS’ debut original single and music video, released in conjunction with the ongoing SG50 celebrations. A heartfelt piece chronicling Singapore’s remarkable rise and the unity of its people, the MV is symbolic of SASS’ growth through the years. Their video features the girls’ closest friends and family and also hears the voices of NUS Resonance members – an A Cappella group where the girls first met as undergraduates.

< Sing Out Singapore > was originally submitted as an entry for The Gift of Song competition held early this year. Despite not being selected as the final 3 qualifying pieces, the girls were urged by friends and family to release it as a single. Penned around the notion of progress and harmony, the song calls for the solidarity of the Singaporean race – a notion SASS strongly believes in, and hopes to inspire and foster.

The track is written and composed by the girls, together with Judah Lyne and Haramain Osman, both of whom also served as producers for the track. The duo have written and produced various successful Malay hits for artistes such as Aisyah Aziz and Sezairi Sezali as well as English tunes for Mark Bonafide and Zahidah.

SASS is also excited to announce their participation in the “50 Songs in 50 Days” campaign - an initiative by Lush 99.5FM and Rdio Asia, in conjunction with the SG50 festivities. Collaborating with rapper, THELIONCITYBOY, catch their performance of “Light It Up” and Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” on the 13th and 14th of July on Lush’s YouTube channel, here.
