16 July 2015 – From April to June 2015, Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC), The Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to establish collaboration for a mentorship programme. With the lead from experienced heads of various well-known enterprises, HKCS hope to nurture our next generation and to create a sustainable talent ecosystem for the local Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.
HKCS invited heads of IT from more than 30 well-known enterprises to be the mentor of the programme (please refer to annex I for the full mentor list). They will share with 60 mentees their invaluable first-hand experiences and networks.
With the engagement of those professional mentors, HKCS and the 3 parties involved hope to nurture mentees’ interest on ICT industry and to realise their dreams in the industry by providing assistance and advice. Also, they hope to encourage the younger generation to choose ICT industry as their lifelong career in order to maintain a sustainable talent ecosystem and more importantly, to catalyse the overall development of local ICT industry.
