(Hong Kong, 30 November 2012) The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (‘HKCEC’) has been voted ‘Asia’s Best Convention and Exhibition Centre’ for the tenth time by readers of CEI Asia, the region’s premier magazine for the MICE (Meetings, Incentive events, Conventions and Exhibitions) and business events industry.
The CEI Asia industry survey and awards have been conducted since 2001, in which period the HKCEC has been named ‘Asia’s Best Convention and Exhibition Centre’ ten times.
Mr Martin Donovan, editor of CEI Asia, complimented when announcing the award, ‘The success of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre has been nothing short of astounding. Readers of CEI Asia have yet again selected the HKCEC as the pride of Asia when it comes to venues. Its triumph over the years reflects not only the HKCEC’s iconic stature as a Hong Kong landmark, but it is also testimony to the staff and management who ensure a smooth operation for each exhibition, convention and other events whether be they large or small.’
Ms Monica Lee-Müller, Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (‘HML’), commented, ‘Being the long standing winner of this prestigious award, we are humble yet proud to receive continued support from our clients and peers. Their vote of confidence is probably the best and most credible recognition that any venue management company can receive.
‘On behalf of HML’s management, I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to each of the 930 staff members for their total dedication and professionalism, exceptional levels of enthusiasm, responsiveness and experience to serve event organisers and users from around the world. As the HKCEC is stepping in its 25th year, this award serves as major encouragement and motivation for the team at the venue management company to strive for continued excellence.’
