Meat Expo China, the leading International trade exhibition for the meat industry, is scheduled to open its doors from 25 – 27 November 2015 at Shanghai New International Expo Center. This is the show’s 11th edition but the inaugural joint organisation by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the Circulation Industry Promotion Center (CIPC) of Ministry of Commerce of P.R. China.
In response to the growing demand for better food safety and smart meat processing in China, the 2015 show is being held to assemble leading meat and meat-based products suppliers, slaughtering equipment manufacturers and meat processing technologies providers to connect with buyers from the hotel & restaurant, butcher’s trade, processing operations and fast food outlets industries. Leading brands participating at the 2015 event include Watanabe Foodmach, Frigomeccanica S.P.A, Jinluo, Zhongpin, Yurun Group, Chuying Group, Sushi, Xinglong, Xiaojin, Jianhua and Jiaxing Expro.
The show is a newcomer in Messe Frankfurt’s trade fair portfolio in the food technology segment. The existing events include IFFA in Germany, Tecno Fidta in Argentina and Modern Bakery Moscow in Russia. In combining Messe Frankfurt’s global network and exhibition organising experience with CIPC’s extensive industry knowledge, the show’s scale and internationality are enhanced. There are over 100 exhibitors from five countries and regions taking part in the 2015 edition which will utilise 12,600 sqm of the exhibition space.
Show highlights include the debut of the Inner-Mongolia Pavilion, in which over 30 participating companies from the region will bring high-quality mutton and beef from pollution-free production bases.
Additionally, a specialty area formed by various companies from the Rugao City Casing Hub will make its first appearance at the show, introducing a diversity of natural and artificial casings for different types of meat and with various specifications.
Supporting the shows is a strong line-up of domestic industry associations in various cities, provinces and regions. They include:

Value-added complementary programme assists participants in capturing emerging market opportunities
Not only does Meat Expo China connect suppliers and buyers across continents to stimulate trade, but also serves as a pivotal platform to facilitate marketing and networking among all participants. The show organisers have crafted a complementary programme to help industry players fully unlock the abundant business potential.
Held during the show’s first two days is the International Summit on the Development of Meat Industry 2015. It explores the industry-related policy trends and unveils ground-breaking technologies applied to the equipment in the food processing industry. High-level officials from government bodies in China, experts from industry associations and representatives from esteemed brands will share their insights and knowledge during their presentations.

Messe Frankfurt’s leading event in the sector, IFFA, is the largest and most important international trade fair for the meat industry. It covers the entire meat-processing chain from slaughtering, via processing and packaging, to sales. The last edition of IFFA held in 2013 attracted 960 exhibitors and 60,000 professionals from around the world during its six-day exhibition. The next edition will be held from 7 – 12 May 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany.
