The "Taiwan International Boat Show 2016" (TIBS 2016) will be simultaneously held at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and the Horizon City Marina from March 10–13, 2016. The show is jointly organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and the Kaohsiung City Government, implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and supported by the Taiwan Yacht Industry Association (TYIA).
In its 2014 debut, TIBS attracted nearly 70,000 visitors and helped generate NT$5.2 billion in new transactions. The show helped set off a wave of interest in yachting in Taiwan which continued to ripple out after the show as major boating licensing and training programs saw a huge boost in participation. Thanks to TIBS, the people of Taiwan now enjoy a new outlook on the concept of marine recreation.
With all vendor booths already sold out, the highly anticipated TIBS 2016 is gearing up to transform Taiwan into Asia's number one yacht showroom! The show is set to feature 32 yacht brands, over 160 boat companies, and accessories or related service providers by exhibitors from 9 countries including Italy. In addition, 60 luxury yachts, accessories, and equipment will be showcased indoors, outdoors, on land, and on water.
2016's Show Will Be Bigger and Better — Featuring First-Ever Outdoor Exhibition Grounds and Exhibition Area at Horizon City Marina
The "Taiwan International Boat Show" is the largest indoor boat show in Asia. The 2016 exhibition will include 6 exhibition areas: Yachts and Boats, Equipment and Accessories, the International Pavilion, the Maritime Service Area, the Water Sports and Recreation Area, and the Luxury Corner. In addition, for the first time ever, the show will debut an outdoor yacht exhibition grounds and incorporate an exhibition area at the Horizon City Marina.
The "Water Sports and Recreation Area" and the "Maritime Service Area" will display marine recreational products, services, surveys, and designs and shipping services. A variety of events, including a series of seminars, overseas market forums, and a "Maritime Knowledge Box", are also planned. Clearly, TIBS 2016 is poised to showcase the leisure marine industry from all angles and demonstrate to visitors the joy of ocean recreation.
Major Taiwanese Boat Manufacturers and International Companies in One Location
Highlights of the list of upcoming exhibitors include major Taiwanese boat companies such as Horizon, Ocean Alexander, Global, Tayana, Novatec Yachts, Monte Fino, Aquabay, President, Ruby, H.Yacht, and Dyna Yachts, and a full array of boats ranging from 15 to 120 feet long will be showcased, including canoes, sailboats, motor boats, sports cruisers, and luxury yachts.
Well-known brands from countries including the U.K., Sweden, Italy, and the U.S. will participate through retailers and distributors such as: Delta, ZAR Formenti, Galeon, Quicksilver, Princess, and Lohas Ocean Leisure (Bavaria).
The list of exhibitors in the "Equipment and Accessories Area" includes Aritex (Asia's largest manufacturer of yacht hardware accessories), Marineer (the agency for the globally renowned yacht navigation equipment company Garmin), and Marine Center Asia (the agency for Raymarine in Taiwan). Additionally, Fornor Machine (distributor of Yamaha outboards), Kohler, MAN, and local propeller system manufacturers Hung Shen Propeller, Grand Propeller, and Solas will also be participating.
