Core businesses in Smart O2O and Consumption Big Data Fully Unveiled
[Hong Kong , 3 December 2015] Smartac Group China Holdings Limited (the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, collectively, the "Group") is pleased to announce the latest business development of the Group on Smart O2O and Consumption Big Data core business, in integrating the Smart Social Network, Smart Railway, Smart City, Smart Travel and Smart Payment thus forming a business network. This latest business development has echoed the guidance note concerning the action for the active promotion of "Internet +" as announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China in July this year.
The Group is committed to build the Wi-Fi network, coupled with advanced sensors that connect retailers of different locations and consumers, forming a business network. Through analysing the Internet Big Data and cloud computing, it can then provide more precise O2O marketing solutions so as to enable business operators to boost the rate of purchase and increase sales.
The Group is now gradually creating a Smart Wi-Fi network link across major tourist cities in Asia, and has achieved significant breakthroughs in four aspects, namely: Smart Social Network, Smart Railway, Smart City and Smart Travel.
1. Smart Social Network - Full cooperation with Tencent
As China's largest railway passenger station official Wi-Fi network operator, the Group has opened up for use its nation-wide Wi-Fi network to Weixin. Since its promotion through the "Official Account" (公眾號) in Weixin 3 weeks ago, the number of users has increased by approximately 20,000 per day. Following the completion of Wi-Fi network in Beijing railway stations, the city-wide Wi-Fi coverage of Shanghai, and the current discussions of different location-based Wi-Fi services, the Group's Official Account in Weixin is expected to have massive development by the end of 2016. Besides, we will join force with Weixin on other innovative functions for use in other major railway stations.
2. Smart Railway - Build the first 'Smart Railway' in China
The Group plans to introduce Smart Railway APP, railway service robots and other innovative applications in its major Wi-Fi network operating railway stations in PRC so as to provide a full range of personalized interactive information for visitors and enter into railway O2O service with the advantages of big data technology and huge pedestrian flow in major railway stations. The Group has been developing service robot for a long time. The robot will enhance, through Big Data such functions as intelligent scenes and remote control functions, and is expecting to put into service in the first half of 2016.
3. Smart City- Introduce free Wi-Fi to connect the city and business
Since November 2015, the Group has worked with Shanghai Zewei Information Technology Company Limited ("Zewei") and China Telecom to provide free Wi-Fi Access Point ("AP") for offline retail operators to attract traffic into the stores. China Telecom has broad coverage over the city of Shanghai. The Group will select major Wi-Fi hotspots in Shanghai business districts (such as Nanjing Road, Huaihai Road, Lujiazui, Xintiandi and other important business districts), to draw traffic flow into the stores of major brands and businesses, to distribute red pockets, coupons and so forth. There are 10,000 AP at the first phase and is expecting to fully cover the entire city of Shanghai by the end of 2016. The Group is exploring the network coverage over other major cities in China.
4. Smart Travel - Encouraging consumption of Chinese tourists globally
Aiming that Korea tourism is under rapid development, the Group has cooperated with Cashbee of Lotte Group to introduce a smart payment card exclusive for Chinese tourists in Korea (similar to Octopus card), thereby entering into Smart Payment territory with the competitive edge in Big Data technology. The Group has also established a subsidiary in Jeju Island, Korea and signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the largest local navigation coupon company, DrivingJeJu. It will finalize its arrangements with 100 famous merchants to offer discounts for Chinese tourists by Chinese New Year in 2016. Furthermore, the Group plans to invest in a local electronic business platform development company, in order to extend the O2O related technologies to all large-scale enterprises in Korea.
