Nordbygg presents a new arrangement that will facilitate and stimulate international business exchanges within the construction and real estate sector. Nordbygg will be held 5-8 of April 2016 at Stockholmsmässan. The event attracts around 900 exhibitors and 53,000 visitors and is organized in partnership with leading associations in the Swedish industry. We also collaborate with a number of other industry organizations in various projects related to Nordbygg.

The chambers of commerce from several countries have been invited to participate in a special program at Nordbygg 2016. Program participants will gain an overview of the Swedish construction sector, contacts and market knowledge.

“The idea behind the program is that the chambers of commerce will invite companies from their home markets that are interested in doing business in the Nordic construction market. We will place a little extra focus on business opportunities in the Stockholm region,” explains Peter Söderberg, Event Manager at Nordbygg.

Ambitious plans to grow

“The number and breadth of Nordbygg's visitors in the Nordic construction and real estate sector makes the exhibition an excellent place to establish contacts. The exhibition is one of the largest and best platforms for foreign companies who want to reach the expansive building market that we have here,” says Erik Krüger, Business Development Manager at Stockholm Business Region.

Erik explains that the Stockholm region has the highest growth rate in Europe right now.

“The plan is to build 140,000 new homes by 2030. The construction sector in the region grew by 15 percent since 2014 according to fresh data from Eurostat,” says Erik.

Materials Library and agents

The program for international chambers of commerce will be held on Wednesday 6 April, 9 am to 12 pm. Program participants will meet, for example, Nordbygg's international agents. The program will be concluded with individual meetings arranged by the participating chambers of commerce.

Participants will also learn more about Nordbygg as a future platform for reaching the Nordic market as well as the possibilities of the Materials Library. There, exhibitors are able to present themselves to industry representatives at any time, even when Nordbygg is over.
