Breakthrough innovations making consumers smarter, healthier and more stylish
Arlington, VA, March 8, 2016 – Wearable technology is no longer restricted to the confines of an activity tracker on a consumer’s wrist. More than 25 exhibitors are set to display the latest in wearable innovation at CES Asia™ 2016 as it returns to Shanghai May 11-13 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™- formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®- and co-produced by Intex Shanghai, CES Asia serves as the premier event for the Asian consumer technology market.
“Wearables are one of the fastest growing areas of technology. They not only count our steps, they also track our mood, sleeping habits and even our pets,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy. “The possibilities that surround this product category are endless and wearables are already transforming the way consumers live and operate entirely.”
Key companies exhibiting wearables at CES Asia include: Garmin, Monster, Ximmerse, a wearables pavilion organized by China Electronic Chamber of Commerce and more.
“As a worldwide leading provider of navigation, Garmin is also committed to making superior products for smartwear, sports cameras and outdoor markets. CES Asia provides us with a great stage to show our innovation ability and strength.” said Garmin.
New for 2016, CTA will host a conference session titled Innovative Wearables on Thursday, May 12 from 3-3:45 PM at the Kerry Hotel. The panel will discuss the newest innovations coming to market, as well as the important considerations of user interface and design. CTA research expects wearable sales in the emerging Asia-Pacific region to increase by 56 percent for 2016.
Currently, 250 companies representing 20 countries across 15 product categories have signed up to exhibit at CES Asia, including notables like 360, BMW, Hisense and Huawei. Visit CESAsia.com for more information and to register.
Note to Editors: Journalists traveling from outside of China will require a J-1 or J-2 visa. For questions about exhibiting at CES Asia, contact Brian Moon at bmoon@CE.org or +1 703-907-4351.
