TAIPEI --(ASIA TODAY)-- A selection of some of the finest wines from around the world have gained early recognition and popularity as exhibitors from Wine & Gourmet Taipei 2016 participated in the exhibition’s Annual Selection event which took place on 8 March, 2016. Held in collaboration with the prestigious Taiwan Sommelier Association, the event serves as the perfect platform for exceptional boutique and international wineries to enter into the growing Taiwanese wine market. This year saw a total of 150 submissions from over 100 exhibitors.
Mr Gerd Keim, President, KAIGO Co. Furthermore, the Annual Selection is highly regarded amongst wine lovers, importers and distributors as a trustworthy guide to the best wines in Taiwan each year.”
Featuring an extensive selection of red, white and sparkling wines categorized by price and type, each wine was first evaluated according to Robert Parker rating system. This year, an esteemed professional jury led by Mr. Xavier Tzeng, the president of Taiwan Sommelier Association as well as 2 Sommelier Kings – Mr. Hsin-Wei Ho, Mr. Kenny Lee. Together with these top sommeliers who were the brightest industry icons in 2015,10 professional sommeliers and wine experts selected winners from a range of wines that have been newly introduced or will enter the market in 2016.
As Taiwan’s wine industry continue on a rapid upward trend and is set for even greater expansion in the coming years, wine lovers and consumers here have also become more savvy and increasingly discerning in finding a trusted choice.
