Bangkok --(ASIA TODAY)-- Prof. Dr. Tatchai Sumitra, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Sustainable Energy & Technology Asia 2016 (SETA 2016) said that this inaugural conference and exhibition held first time in Thailand during the three days show from March 23-25, 2016 came to the conclusion with a great success. The forum apparently helped enhance awareness and attention on energy sector among various governmental and private organisations from many countries that have participated in the event. The conference is praised for having diversifying topics of discussion with extensive point of views. It is also complimented for being an open platform for broad comments and recommendations from all stakeholders that benefit the energy sector significantly.

"We will put together important issues and conclusions from the conference and submit as the recommendation array to the government. The focus of the package is on how to improve energy implementation following the world's commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emission as an effort to combat the global warming problem," Prof. Dr. Tatchai said.

"Developing countries consume great amount of energy in producing goods to drive the growth of their economies and the procedures lead to large emission of carbon. The use of appropriate technology therefore will be a solution to achieve energy efficiency and lead to lower gas emission. However, the government must take a careful consideration on the use of traditional energy such as natural gas and coal that release carbon to the environment as well as the use the technology to curtail the emission that would also lead to rising electricity bill. The government has to make the right and appropriate policy toward this situation," Prof. Dr. Tatchai said.

SETA 2016 featured technical seminar covering more than 100 topics under four main themes; Energy Policy and Planning, Electrical Systems Technology, Transportation and Alternative Fuels and Sustainable Energy and Green Technology. There was also an exhibition platform where governmental and private organizations and companies exhibit state-of-the art technology and innovations such as electricity generating technology, alternative fuels and transportation technology and green technology while several relevant side events have also been set up alongside by alliance organisations.

SETA 2016 drew attention from more than 1,500 visitors a day, with more than 5,000 visitors came in total during the entire 3 days of the show. The forum also featured a platform for business matching. With proved great success this year, the organising committee agreed SETA conference and exhibition to be held again March-April next year, Prof. Dr. Tatchai remarked.
